[Rari Plastic Surgery] Before-and-After Photos of Natural Epicanthoplasty Revision Surgery Without Eye Shrinkage or Recurrence

Any revision surgery is performed with the possibility of recurrence in mind.

So it is important to operate in a way that minimizes the chance of recurrence as much as possible.

To do that, even in revision or reconstructive surgery, it is not enough to simply shape the outside; the internal structures must also be firmly fixed so they do not open up again.

This patient had undergone lateral canthoplasty and lower canthoplasty a year ago. These days, many men also undergo lateral and lower canthoplasty, just like women.

However, compared with women,

men generally do not prefer it when the surgery looks obvious and usually pursue a more natural result.

So after the lateral and lower canthoplasty, this patient was bothered by the fact that, even a year later, the skin at the surgical site still looked red and open, so he underwent revision surgery for the lateral canthoplasty.

There was a difference in the degree of revision needed between the two eyes.

Looking at the preoperative photo, the left eye had more severe red skin at the outer corner, which is a side effect seen after lateral canthoplasty, compared with the right eye, and the outer corner was also opened up more.

If this were a woman, even if the skin at the outer corner were slightly open, she might have felt that the eyes looked more refreshed and open, and been fine with it. But for a man pursuing a natural look, this area had remained a concern throughout recovery after surgery.

Through lateral canthoplasty revision surgery, the red skin was corrected and the open area at the outer corner was closed naturally.

If the correction is done too aggressively, the above symptoms will of course be improved well, but the eyes may become much smaller and look tight, so the amount of revision was adjusted by using a different design depending on how much correction was needed.

For the right eye, rather than correcting redness or opening, the surgery was performed by gently bringing together the area where a lot of the white of the eye was showing toward the outer side.

Because there were not many significant symptoms, the lateral canthoplasty revision was done without being excessive, and as a result, the eyes were restored without becoming smaller.

Although the amount of revision was much smaller than for the left eye, comparing the before-and-after photos, you can feel a subtle difference.

Even when performing the same surgery, carrying it out with an appropriate design based on the condition of each eye leads to more effective revision surgery results.

Of course, it would not be appropriate to design the two eyes differently just because the symptoms and their severity are different and create very uneven eyes, but performing the same surgery on eyes with different degrees of symptoms is something that should be avoided in plastic surgery for a more satisfying result.^^

One month after surgery, and it has been maintaining well for 3 years and 8 months.
