[Rari Plastic Surgery] Natural Double Eyelid Asymmetry Correction, Double Eyelid Removal Surgery Before and After Photos

When I was in school, I was often envious of friends who had big eyes and double eyelids.

You know, friends with pretty natural double eyelids.

However, not all friends with natural double eyelids had pretty eyes.

Some had double eyelids that were so thick people mistook them for having had double eyelid surgery,

and some had double eyelids with multiple folds that made them look older.

Today, let’s look at before-and-after photos of a patient with uneven double eyelids.

What kind of surgery did they have?! Haha

This patient had natural double eyelids since childhood.

However, the double eyelids on both sides were quite different.

If both sides had been like the right side, or both like the left side,

there may not have been much reason to worry,

but because the two sides were different and the difference was significant, the eyes looked uneven,

so they must have worried a lot about it.

So they decided to remove the double eyelids entirely.

To correct asymmetry, both eyes must be diagnosed accurately,

and surgery must be designed differently for each eye.

Otherwise, significant asymmetry can remain even after surgery.

As shown in the photo,

the right side has a thicker double-eyelid line than the left side, and the eye is also larger,

so taking that into account, the right eye was designed to be closer to a monolid.

The left eye, which had a smaller double-eyelid line and eye size, was designed and operated on to look like a subtle inner double eyelid close to a monolid.

For both eyes, a small amount of ptosis correction was also done to help balance the asymmetry,

so the difference between the two sides could be matched, and so that even though the double eyelids were removed, the eyes would not feel smaller.

Let’s compare before and after surgery.

How much better do the uneven eyes look now?!

This patient did not look like this right after surgery.

The eyes were very swollen at the time of surgery, and the difference between the two eyes was checked on the day the stitches were removed,

which led to the right eye being corrected one more time.

If surgery is performed again, the recovery level of both eyes can differ quite a bit,

so it is necessary to observe them over a long recovery period.

Seven months after surgery, the asymmetry between the eyes was finally well corrected,

and the eyes also appeared clearer than before surgery.

One more thing: let’s compare photos with the eyes closed.

Surprisingly, before surgery, it was a natural double eyelid that had never undergone double eyelid surgery,

but when the eyes are closed, there is a dark line.

Even with natural double eyelids, depending on how long the eyelid has been present, skin constitution, and skin type,

there are cases where the double-eyelid line is still visible when the eyes are closed like that.

It is similar to an incision scar from double eyelid surgery.

Looking at the before-and-after photos, doesn’t the scar on the operated eye look smoother than before surgery?!

What I want to say is:

there is no need to worry too much about incisional surgery^_^

Sometimes during consultations, people say they want a non-incisional double-eyelid removal because they are worried about scarring,

but there are not many people whose eyes are suitable for non-incisional double-eyelid removal,

and the chance of recurrence is very high, so it is not usually recommended.

(Of course, scars vary from person to person,

and people with keloids, atopic dermatitis, or seborrheic skin may be more prone to scarring than others.)
