[Lari Plastic Surgery] Correcting Uneven Eyes with Incisionless Revision Surgery

Unlike procedures, surgery is often described as semi-permanent.

However, when you think about it, there are cases where an eye-opening procedure closes up again or double-eyelid surgery comes undone.

This is neither because I did something wrong nor because the surgery was performed incorrectly,

so revision surgery is something we cannot help but consider.

The photo above shows a case where double-eyelid surgery performed without incisions has come undone.

There is always a possibility that surgically created double eyelids may come undone,

but it is rare for both sides to come undone simultaneously and to the same extent.

If the double eyelid on only one side comes undone, the degree of unevenness may vary depending on the original size of the double eyelids,

but the larger the double eyelids are, the more noticeably uneven the two eyes become.

When this condition causes stress or concern, patients undergo revision surgery.

The patient above felt burdened by the idea of undergoing surgery with an incision,

and the degree of skin laxity and skin type also made her a suitable candidate for an incisionless procedure, so we proceeded with incisionless revision surgery.

The surgical result was very positive and effective.

We operated not only on the eye where the double eyelid had come undone, but also on the other eye to improve its multiple crease,

because this allowed the two eyes to be matched more closely.

Patients sometimes look down and spontaneously point out and express the difference, saying that the eyes look different in this position.

When looking downward after surgery, bruising and swelling are present,

so the sizes of the double-eyelid lines on both eyes may appear different,

but there is no significant difference when the eyes are opened straight while looking forward.

Eye surgery is performed based on how the eyes look when gazing straight ahead,

so it is difficult to match even such secondary details perfectly. 😭

The fact that there is almost no scarring is the greatest advantage of incisionless surgery.

However, these photos were taken around the fourth day after surgery,

so please keep in mind that the area should be viewed with the bruising and swelling taken into account.

Those with a keen eye may have noticed in the postoperative photos

that there is a very, very slight difference between the two eyes.

The line of the left eye (the right eye in the photo)

may look slightly thicker than that of the right eye (the left eye in the photo).

The left eye (the right eye in the photo) had previously experienced a loss of its double eyelid,

so the double eyelid was secured a little more firmly, making the difference temporarily visible.

As time passes and the swelling subsides, however, the two sides will naturally become similar.
