Today, let’s take a look at the before-and-after photos of a patient whose surgically created buried-suture double eyelid came undone.

In the preoperative photo, can you see the faint line in the middle of the very thick double-eyelid line?

Apparently, that was the original double-eyelid line created through buried-suture surgery.

However, as the buried-suture double eyelid came undone, tension was placed on the upper part of the line,

resulting in a very thick and incompletely formed line.

A line that has been set too high may not be even,

and the thick fold of double-eyelid skin can press down on the eye, making the person look sleepy.

The thickness of the double-eyelid line also made the eyes appear smaller.

You might think that revision surgery to recreate the loosened line would be the solution,

but once a double eyelid has come undone, the line often does not suit the patient’s natural eye shape,

so there is a high possibility that it will come undone again even after revision surgery.

Therefore, eye revision surgery was performed by removing the double eyelid.

Double-eyelid removal surgery begins by releasing the adhesion of the double eyelid in the upper eyelid.

In cases with multiple overlapping folds like this, the adhesions must be released more carefully.

While dissecting to release the double-eyelid adhesion,

the buried sutures placed inside the skin during the buried-suture double-eyelid surgery were also removed,

cleaning up the tissue internally while releasing the double-eyelid adhesion.

Because the patient is a woman, the surgery was performed to create an inner double-eyelid line close to a soft monolid rather than a completely foldless eyelid.

At six months after surgery, the eyes had a soft and smooth appearance,

with a line resembling a very thin inner double eyelid.

Since the double-eyelid line that had come undone was originally very thick,

the line after surgery may seem awkward because it has become much thinner.

the incision scar was smooth without any particular unevenness,
