Seocho Station dental clinic full-arch implants: think about the possibilities before the worries.
Hello.
This is Oks Dental Clinic.

“Too many of my teeth have fallen out.”
“Is there another option besides dentures?”
“Chewing food is so uncomfortable.”
“I don’t feel confident whenever I smile…”
There are quite a few people who come in cautiously saying things like this.
In particular, as people get older, one or two teeth may be lost at a time, and in some cases this can eventually lead to a state where all teeth are lost.
At times like this, one treatment option to consider is full-arch implants.
However, when many people hear “full-arch implants,” they tend to think it must be very difficult, complex, and extremely expensive, so they cannot easily make a decision.
But!
Full-arch implants are not simply the “last resort” for those who have lost all their teeth; they can be an important opportunity to restore quality of life.
Today, I’ll introduce full-arch implants.
What are full-arch implants?
Full-arch implants are a treatment in which several implants are placed in a maxilla (upper jaw) or mandible (lower jaw) where all teeth have been lost, and prosthetics are attached on top to restore the entire set of teeth.
Rather than placing one implant for each tooth, 4 to 8 implants are evenly distributed on both sides, and a bridge-type fixed prosthesis is connected on top.
The biggest advantage is that, unlike dentures, you do not have to take them out and put them back in every day, and you can confidently chew even hard foods.

Who is this for?
Full-arch implants are recommended for the following people.
✔️ When all teeth have been lost, or the remaining teeth are no longer functional
✔️ When existing dentures are too uncomfortable and make eating difficult
✔️ When denture adhesive and the removal/insertion process are inconvenient and pain occurs frequently
✔️ When you want to restore both aesthetics and chewing ability at the same time
In particular, even if only the upper or lower teeth have been lost, full-arch implants may be considered to reduce the burden on the opposite teeth.

What types of full-arch implants are there?
1️⃣ All-on-4 / All-on-6 system
This method places 4 or 6 implants and connects a fixed prosthesis.
It provides better fixation than dentures and is relatively cost-effective.
2️⃣ Implant bridge type
This method places 6 to 8 implants and fits a connected bridge on top.
It offers chewing ability and aesthetics similar to natural teeth, and speech feels natural as well.
3️⃣ Removable overdenture type
This method places implants as fixed support posts and then secures a denture on top.
It is still a denture, but it has less looseness and feels more stable.
The appropriate method varies depending on the patient’s jawbone condition, overall health, budget, and other factors, so it is important to decide after an accurate diagnosis.

How are the surgery and recovery carried out?
When many people think of full-arch implants, they worry:
“Isn’t this a very large surgery?”
“Won’t my entire mouth swell up?”
“Will recovery take more than a month?”
But that is not the case at all.
In particular, today navigation implants and flapless surgery are possible, so the gums do not need to be incised and the recovery period can be greatly shortened.

What are the advantages of full-arch implants?
✔️ Much stronger fixation than dentures
✔️ Aesthetic appearance similar to natural teeth
✔️ Improved satisfaction with chewing food
✔️ Clearer speech and restored social confidence
✔️ Helps prevent jawbone resorption and maintain facial shape
Above all, it changes your quality of life.
The joy of eating, the confidence to smile, and the freedom to talk with others!
