Hello. This is Director Jo Hyun-woo of Inje Sculpt Plastic Surgery.
Did you have a nice weekend?
The weather has turned pleasantly warm.
Until just a little while ago, we were struggling with the heat, but after a few chilly days, the sunshine feels
so welcome.
Having dedicated myself to facial contouring surgery for a long time, there are many things people are curious about.
There are a few questions that every visitor asks.
Facial Contouring Q&A will briefly introduce those questions.
The first post is about the difference between zygoma reduction and quick zygoma reduction.
Q. What is the difference between traditional zygoma reduction and quick zygoma reduction?
A. Traditional zygoma reduction is a surgery performed under general anesthesia, where the 45-degree zygomatic bone is cut through an intraoral incision,
and the front area of the zygomatic bone near the ear is cut through an incision at the sideburn area, then fixed with pins.
Quick zygoma reduction is performed under sedation anesthesia, and through a scalp incision, the zygomatic bone is not completely cut.
Instead, only a certain portion is cut, and then the bone is rotated.
In both surgeries, the amount of side cheekbone reduction is similar, but the amount of 45-degree cheekbone reduction is greater
with traditional zygoma reduction. In the case of quick zygoma surgery, the 45-degree cheekbone can be reduced
through shaving, but the overall effect is greater with traditional zygoma reduction.
Therefore, for those whose side cheekbones are excessively prominent and who want to undergo cheekbone surgery,
a quick zygoma reduction can still provide sufficient results.
