Facial Contouring Clinic, 입체성형외과
Hello. I am Director Jo Hyun-woo of 입체성형외과.
Today, as a plastic surgery specialist with 15 years of experience in facial contouring, I will explain how to choose a facial contouring clinic.
These days, there are 정말 many facial contouring clinics.
For those considering facial contouring surgery, there is a lot of concern about which among so many clinics actually perform surgery well, and which ones are safe.
Many people search the internet and various plastic surgery apps to look for facial contouring clinics,
but there is something you must be careful about at this time.
That is that advertisements and information are mixed together on various portals and apps.
When you are looking for a good restaurant, or when you want to buy something, you probably know well that much of the information you encounter online is advertising.
There are cases where you see many reviews online, buy something because it seems like a good product, and it turns out to be complete nonsense, or you go to a place said to be really delicious and terrible food is served... I have had many of those experiences too. ^^;
But with products, you can just return them, and if a restaurant is bad, you simply do not go again. However, in medicine, it becomes a matter of choices that cannot be reversed.
When your body is hurting and you are about to undergo surgery, you would never have it done just anywhere. But it is especially regrettable that when it comes to plastic surgery, many people are tempted by advertisements or events and make hasty choices without careful consideration.
It is probably because the advertising competition is so intense.
When we take a CT scan of people who come in for revision surgery, there are many cases where surgery that did not suit the patient was performed.
This is all because the hospital was so focused on getting the patient onto the operating table that it did not make a proper diagnosis.

How to Choose a Good Facial Contouring Clinic
Now I will explain how to choose a facial contouring clinic so that you can make the right choice. I hope this helps, even a little, in preventing unnecessary revision surgery and making the right decision.
First, you should basically narrow down a few places with good post-surgery reviews through the internet or various plastic surgery apps. In fact, what you see may be advertisements or it may be real information, but it is truly difficult for consumers to distinguish between them.
I recommend that you put at least 3 to 4 facial contouring clinics on your basic list and go for consultations. I also tell the patients who come to me to be sure to visit several hospitals and listen to consultations from different doctors. ^^
Before surgery, you need to carefully check how the surgery will be done, what the recovery course will be like, how long the recovery period will be, and what kinds of facial contouring cases the clinic has handled.
You should also think for yourself after leaving the clinic about whether they are recommending something too excessive or unsuitable.
The reason I recommend visiting multiple clinics is that only by going to several places can patients develop the discernment to judge for themselves.
Listening to only one clinic and undergoing unnecessary surgery leads to truly poor results.
Also, beauty is in fact very subjective. A face that the doctor doing the consultation thinks is beautiful may not be beautiful at all to the patient.
Be sure to check whether the facial shape you want and the direction the surgeon aims for match. That way, you can be satisfied with your own results after surgery.
The consultation also allows you to gauge how much experience the doctor has. You can also tell from the atmosphere during the consultation whether the doctor is someone you can trust with your face. Again, I must say that you should definitely visit several clinics and choose one you can trust yourself.

Points to Be Careful About When Choosing a Facial Contouring Clinic
You should discard the idea that a large hospital is trustworthy and that a one-person clinic would not be safe. In a one-doctor clinic, it is easier to care for each patient individually, so you may receive more systematic management.
Another thing is that you should not decide on surgery based on price alone. These days, every field is in an era of unlimited competition. Plastic surgery is no exception.
Recently, some clinics have even started advertising double eyelid surgery for "90,000 won." Of course, you may be able to get surgery at a low price and achieve satisfying results.
But plastic surgery is not about selling the same product cheaply; it is about receiving fees based on completely different surgical results. Even for the same zygoma reduction surgery, it goes without saying that the results of a specialist with extensive clinical experience and one with less experience will be different. Depending on the specialist, there can be clear differences not only in the surgical results but also in many other aspects, such as postoperative cheek sagging.
As I mentioned earlier, if it is surgery you are undergoing because you are ill or injured, you would never seek out the cheapest place to have it done. Plastic surgery is no different from other surgical procedures. Deciding on a clinic based only on price can lead to truly foolish results, so I hope you will not be tempted by abnormally cheap prices.
Lastly, if a facial contouring clinic talks too much about aftercare, you should think about it again. From the patient’s perspective, the most important thing is the result of the surgery. You should choose a facial contouring clinic that can take responsibility for the surgical result and, if something goes wrong even slightly, can provide proper correction.
No matter how much surgery they do, give you pumpkin juice, manage nose blackheads, or offer various items, it will be useless if the surgical result is unsatisfactory or if cheek sagging occurs.
A comparison I often use is a mobile phone. If several phone stores sell the same iPhone, then of course it makes sense to buy it from the place that gives you a screen protector, a case, and various freebies at a low price.
But plastic surgery is not the same as selling such mass-produced goods.
As I always say, plastic surgery cannot be returned. You should not entrust a result you will have to carry to just anyone.
Be sure to choose a facial contouring clinic that can leave you satisfied beyond the cost you paid, and that will lead to a result without regret.

If you are currently considering facial contouring surgery, you may probably be worried a lot about side effects as well. I have written a separate column about side effects, so if you are planning surgery, I recommend reading it before the procedure.
I am also attaching a video related to facial contouring clinics.
I hope this was helpful in making you think more carefully before facial contouring surgery.
