Male Cheekbone Reduction Surgery: Looking at Real Cases of Facial Contouring Surgery

Today, I’d like to briefly show a case of male facial contouring and male cheekbone reduction surgery.

Here is the patient before male facial contouring and cheekbone reduction surgery. The surgery was performed in March of this year.

As you can see in the photo, the patient’s cheekbones are somewhat prominently developed. When men have prominent cheekbones, the overall facial line does not fall in a straight line but instead looks round and uneven.

The surgery was planned as a combination of 230-degree three-dimensional cheekbone reduction and 45-degree cheekbone fat suction.

For the 45-degree cheekbone (the cheekbone area below the outer corner of the eye), there are two methods: one is to smoothly shave down the bone, and the other is to completely perform osteotomy and remove a certain portion.

The former is the method used in 230-degree three-dimensional cheekbone reduction, and the latter is the surgical method used in 3D cheekbone reduction.

In this patient’s case, the 45-degree cheekbone was also prominent, but even so, it could be sufficiently reduced by the shaving method without necessarily using the 3D cheekbone approach.

This is the patient’s CT image. In the CT scan, the marked area is soft tissue. As you can see, the soft tissue was thick as well as the bone, so fat suction of the 45-degree area was also performed.

Next, I’ll show you photos taken two months after male facial contouring; cheekbone reduction surgery.

If you compare the before-and-after photos side by side, you can clearly see that the facial line has changed.

Also, even if the face length has not changed, the width of the face has been reduced, so it actually appears slimmer and sharper.

From the side, the 45-degree cheekbone has also improved significantly.

As you can see, if the cheekbones are not developed to an excessive degree, the 230-degree cheekbone method can address the issue. There is no need to pay the higher cost of 3D surgery and undergo a major procedure under general anesthesia.
