Hello. I’m Director Jo Hyun-woo of 3D Plastic Surgery.
These days, many patients ask about procedures that may be good to have together with contouring surgery.
This time, I’ll explain which procedures can be helpful.

In fact, there are not many procedures that can be done at the same time as surgery.
The typical ones would be Botox, fillers, fat-dissolving injections, and thread lifting.

Temporalis (temple) Botox
First, regarding Botox,
as I mentioned in a previous column, after 3D cheekbone surgery, some patients feel that the temporalis muscle becomes more prominent at first as the masseter muscle is compressed.
If you receive Botox in the temple area in anticipation of this, it can prevent the temple muscle from looking enlarged.

Wrinkles on the chin
There is also Botox for the chin.
Some people have wrinkles on the chin, and some people develop wrinkling on the chin after T-osteotomy surgery due to slight muscle bunching.
In such cases, chin Botox can help improve it.

230-degree cheekbone reduction surgery: forehead / front cheek filler
Next is fillers.
In fact, it is not common to have filler procedures done together with contouring surgery.
For facial volume, it is better to combine the procedure with surgery such as fat grafting, but for those who find surgery burdensome, forehead filler or front cheek filler may help add dimension to the face.

230-degree cheekbone reduction surgery: double chin liposuction
Third, there are people who undergo liposuction at the same time to prevent a double chin that can occur after contouring surgery.
However, for those who find liposuction surgery burdensome, a simple procedure they can do together is contouring injections or fat-dissolving injections.
As I always say, when the volume of bone is reduced, the gathering of fat or soft tissue is inevitable, and because of this, some people feel that their double chin has become worse. In such cases, fat-dissolving injections are less effective than liposuction, but they can still provide some improvement.

Cheekbone reduction surgery, facial liposuction, thread lifting
Lastly, I’d like to talk about thread lifting. The major topic in contouring surgery is “sagging.”
For those who are worried about cheek sagging after cheekbone surgery, or for those who already show signs of sagging, thread lifting is sometimes performed at the same time as cheekbone surgery.
If four 15 cm threads, called medium-long threads, are placed on each side of the temple, cheek sagging can be improved to some extent, so it can be a good option. However, I recommend doing thread lifting about 6 months after surgery, because swelling after cheekbone surgery makes it difficult to see the lifting effect clearly.
Today, we briefly looked at procedures that can be combined with contouring surgery.
In fact, there are not many procedures that can be done together with contouring surgery. However, if you choose well according to your own situation, you may be able to achieve more satisfying results.
Thank you.
