Surgeries That Are Good to Combine with Facial Contouring Surgery

I mentioned two years ago about surgeries that are good to do together with contour surgery,

but these days many people still ask about it often, so I’d like to go over it again with different cases.

"Doctor, do I only need contour surgery? Or do you recommend any other procedures?"

Let’s look at which procedures can make the effects of facial contouring surgery appear more clearly.

The surgery I recommend most often is facial liposuction.

People who have a lot of facial fat may not show much outward change even after shaving and repositioning the facial bones.

In such cases, if you remove fat from the 45-degree cheekbone area that appears when smiling, or perform liposuction on the double chin, cheeks, and jawline, the effects of facial contouring surgery can be maximized.

This patient underwent a three-type contouring surgery along with liposuction of the double chin, cheeks, and jawline.

In this case, facial liposuction was performed together to improve the overall impression of a long face and the slightly prognathic look from the side, and to create the effect of smaller bones.

After surgery, you can see a slimmer and more refined facial line.

Facial contouring surgery is often performed on what we commonly call an Asian face.

An Asian face refers to a face that is wide from side to side and has a flat midface. In such cases, combining the surgery with facial fat grafting can maximize the effect of contouring surgery.

The patient above underwent 230-degree three-dimensional cheekbone reduction surgery along with fat grafting.

By reducing the width from the front and side and adding volume with fat grafting to the forehead, temples, front cheeks, and nasolabial fold area, you can see that the face became more three-dimensional and even the uneven facial lines were softened.

For people with a flat face, nose surgery is another procedure that works well in combination.

Of course, fat grafting also adds volume to the front of the face and makes it more dimensional, but nose surgery has a more dramatic effect of bringing the face into balance.

This patient underwent a three-type contouring surgery together with buccal fat removal and nose surgery.

You can see that the flat impression of the face improved, giving a much more refined and defined look.

Eye surgery or canthoplasty is also often recommended together with cheekbone surgery.

People with prominent cheekbones often tend to have upturned outer corners of the eyes.

Of course, when cheekbone surgery is performed, the bones themselves become smaller, which can make the outer corners of the eyes appear lower as well, but this does not mean their absolute position changes.

As you can see in the photo above, the patient had upturned outer corners of the eyes before surgery, so a three-type contouring surgery and canthoplasty were performed together.

You can see that the eye shape looks much softer and the harsh impression has disappeared.

Lifting procedures are also among the surgeries many people want to combine with contouring surgery.

Except in special cases, I recommend having the procedure after the swelling from contouring surgery has completely gone down.

When contouring surgery is performed, the swelling can make the effect of thread lifting look reduced, and the force of the fixed threads may also weaken, so I recommend waiting at least three months after surgery before having thread lifting.

There are many people who think that bone surgery alone is enough and therefore only undergo facial bone surgery.

These days, if bone surgery is performed in combination with various other procedures, you can achieve even more dramatic results, so it may be worth considering this as well if you want a bigger change.
