Presentation of the 230-Degree Three-Dimensional Zygoma Reduction Surgery at the 2024 Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons

Hello, this is Dr. Jo Hyun-woo, director of 입체성형외과.

Last week, the 2024 Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons was held.

This society represents all plastic surgery societies in Korea.

Over three days, presentations and discussions were held across all fields, including eyes, nose, breasts, and facial contouring.

The Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons also welcomes foreign speakers and attendees under the name PRS KOREA.

This year, more than 400 people attended.

You can see that many people attended.

This year, in a session called the K-Bone Forum, directors from the contouring surgery research group gave presentations and lectures related to facial contouring surgery.

Many directors gave excellent presentations, so I think this was a conference that was very helpful for advancing surgery as well.

The topic I presented was the 230-degree three-dimensional zygoma reduction surgery.

Because I was giving the presentation in English, I presented it under the title “Minimally Invasive Zygoma Surgery.”

I explained how the 230-degree three-dimensional zygoma surgery differs from conventional zygoma surgery.

I also talked about how to use absorbable fixation pins, which are one of the advantages of 230-degree three-dimensional zygoma surgery.

The fact that zygoma revision surgery is possible with 230-degree three-dimensional zygoma surgery can also be a very important advantage for patients.

As I always mention, I also presented to many directors, along with cases, on the advantages of 230-degree three-dimensional zygoma surgery: that it can be performed under sedation anesthesia, that the surgery time is short, and that there is almost no cheek sagging because the sinus is not opened and the dissection area is small.

People who read my column already know these points, but speaking in English in front of foreign attendees was not actually easy.

Still, I was able to finish the presentation safely.

It was a meaningful occasion to present together with the respected directors who are highly knowledgeable about contouring surgery.^^

I present several times a year not only on contouring surgery, but also on other topics, and this may be the first time I have shown you a scene of myself giving a presentation.

I will always continue to study and learn, and I will do my best to become a hospital that delivers good surgical results for patients.
