Oral Scan Training to Save Time and Costs

Hello, this is Live Dental Hospital😊

Today, under the leadership of the prosthodontics team leader,

training was conducted on the oral scanning process!

This training went beyond simply learning how to operate the scanner,

and focused on key know-how for creating more accurate prostheses without remakes🦷

What was especially emphasized was

scan methods that reduce “remake.” A remake refers to a situation where a prosthesis does not fit the patient’s mouth well and must be made again.

Because it increases time, cost, and patient inconvenience, it is something that must be reduced!

So!

In this training, three key checkpoints for reducing remakes were introduced👇

✔️ Checking the margin is essential!

Before scanning, pretreatment to clearly expose the gingiva and margin is absolutely necessary.

Without proper hemostasis and retraction, scanning precision can drop significantly.

✔️ Scan from as many angles as possible!

If you scan from only one angle, it becomes easy to leave unseen margin areas.

The key is to move slowly and scan from multiple angles!

✔️ Setting up the surrounding environment is also part of scanning!

If you keep the scanning environment clean by removing saliva and adjusting the lighting,

the scanned results will come out much more accurately.
