However, no matter how delicate the procedure is, you need to follow the care instructions and precautions after treatment well in order to maintain healthy and satisfying results for a long time.

What Is Lucinate?

Lucinate is an aesthetic prosthetic procedure that improves the color and shape of teeth naturally by attaching a thin ceramic material made with a thickness of 0.01–0.1 mm.

It is performed with minimal tooth reduction, and the scope or method of application may vary depending on the individual’s condition.

Because natural-looking results can be expected, it is often chosen by people considering aesthetic improvement.

Precautions After Lucinate

1. It takes about 2 days for the adhesive to fully harden

For about 2 days after the procedure, please eat mainly soft foods. Please avoid sticky, cold, or hot foods.

2. Be sure to visit the clinic after one week for a checkup

When the teeth are thinned, the nerves become more easily responsive to external stimuli. This is the day to adjust any interfering areas, so please be sure to visit.

3. Some sensitive teeth may have sensitivity for about 2 weeks to 2 months

Because Lucinate follows the principle of minimal reduction, most symptoms improve. If sensitivity becomes severe even after more than 2 months, root canal treatment or bite adjustment may be necessary, so please visit the clinic.

4. Clean once a day at home with a Waterpik

Please brush using the modified Bass method. Please receive scaling about once every 3 months.

5. The overall tone may become slightly darker after 2 to 3 months

This does not mean that Lucinate is discoloring. As the internal adhesive dries, the color of the teeth behind it may show through the thin outer surface of Lucinate, so please rest assured.

6. Refrain from behaviors that are also not good for natural teeth

Please avoid using your front teeth to tear tough food or to open bottle caps.

7. You may feel a foreign-body sensation for about 2 weeks

The sensation usually disappears within one month, but the typical adjustment period is from 6 months to 1 year, which is the period during which Lucinate becomes one with the teeth.

8. Wear an appliance

If you grind your teeth, please wear your night guard while sleeping.
