Hello.
I am Ahn Young-seok, CEO and lead dentist of Make Dental Clinic.
Nonhyeon laminate is
a treatment for improving the aesthetics of teeth.
After the procedure, seeing a neat and bright smile
can bring greater satisfaction and confidence.
However, just as important as the procedure itself, or perhaps even more important,
is the care you provide after the procedure.
Our oral environment is one in which we constantly eat food
and are exposed to various stimuli,
and the lifespan of laminates can vary greatly depending on
a person’s oral hygiene habits and lifestyle.
Therefore, if they are not properly managed,
laminates may chip or come off,
and cavities or gum disease may develop around them,
which could require additional treatment.
Through 충분한 communication with each patient,
we strive to achieve the most satisfying results.
- How should daily toothbrushing change?
After the procedure, you do not need a different method,
but there are a few things you should pay extra attention to.
First, you should use a toothbrush with soft bristles.
Although Nonhyeon laminate itself is strong,
brushing with excessive force can irritate the surrounding gums.
Second, you should pay particular attention to cleaning
the boundary where the teeth and gums meet.
Food debris and plaque can easily accumulate in this area,
which may cause gum inflammation or secondary cavities.
Third, you should learn and consistently practice the correct brushing method,
such as the “modified Bass technique,” in which the toothbrush is tilted 45 degrees toward the gums
and moved upward or downward as if massaging the gums.
Laminates themselves do not develop cavities,
but the natural tooth structure around them can still develop cavities,
so it is important to clean the entire area thoroughly.

- Floss and interdental brushes help with hygiene.
Brushing alone makes it difficult to remove foreign material
between teeth and at the boundary between Nonhyeon laminate and the gums.
At this time, 'floss' and 'interdental brushes'
play an important role.
Floss fits into narrow spaces
and removes food debris and plaque,
while interdental brushes can be used
when the spaces are relatively wide.
In particular, the boundary between laminates and natural teeth
may not be easy to see,
but it can become a small space where bacteria can easily grow.
By carefully caring for these areas with floss or interdental brushes,
you can help prevent gum inflammation and secondary cavities,
and also prevent damage to the adhesive area of the laminate.
Make Dental Clinic considers not only the result,
but also your satisfaction with the process.
- It is a good idea to pay attention to regular checkups and scaling.
You may think, “Now that my teeth look nice, I probably don’t need to go to the dentist,”
but in fact, after the procedure,
more careful management may be needed.
Through regular checkups, the condition of the Nonhyeon laminate,
the health of the surrounding gums, and the bite relationship should be carefully checked.
This is because even minor issues that are difficult to detect visually
can be found early,
allowing appropriate action to be taken.
In addition, plaque and tartar are difficult to remove
with ordinary brushing alone.
Managing plaque and tartar through periodic scaling
helps maintain gum health and care for the teeth around the laminate,
and generally visiting the dentist every 6 months is recommended.

- Caution is needed when eating.
Nonhyeon laminate is
made of very strong ceramic material,
but it is not infinitely strong.
In particular, biting directly with the front teeth where laminates are attached,
or chewing hard or tough foods, can increase the risk of damage.
It is best to avoid sticky or chewy foods such as dried squid, caramel, and jelly,
and hard foods such as ice, nuts, and candy.
Also, habits such as biting directly into hard fruits like apples
with the front teeth, or tearing off meat from bone-in chicken
with the front teeth, are not good either.
For these reasons, when eating,
it is best to use your molars as much as possible to cut food into smaller pieces and eat it,
and you should be careful because hot or cold foods may cause temporary sensitivity.
Make Dental Clinic shows you the result in advance,
and designs based on the patient’s opinions as much as possible.
- Do you have a habit of grinding your teeth or clenching them tightly?
Such oral habits can cause damage,
so it is a good idea to inform the medical staff before the procedure
and remain careful afterward as well.
Teeth grinding, which occurs unconsciously during sleep,
can apply strong force
and may create microcracks in the laminate
or affect the adhesive area.
To manage this, a device to prevent teeth grinding
(a night guard or splint)
can be worn.
This device is made to fit the shape of your individual teeth,
and can help protect Nonhyeon laminate, the teeth,
and the temporomandibular joint by distributing force during sleep.

- 'Signs' that indicate laminate damage or problems
After the procedure, it is important to carefully observe
the condition of your teeth and mouth.
If the following signs appear, it is a good idea to visit the dentist
and consult with the medical staff.
✅ If the laminate is chipped or cracked
---
✅ If the laminate feels loose or like it is coming off the tooth
✅ If sensitivity persists, or pain or discomfort is felt when chewing food
✅ If the gums around the laminate become swollen or red, and signs of gum inflammation with bleeding appear
✅ If a black line appears at the boundary between the tooth and gum, or if it feels like foreign material is stuck there
Carefully observing these signs,
and receiving dental consultation early when needed,
can help with oral health management.
We communicate with patients at every stage of treatment and create it together.
If you have regained a bright smile,
now you need consistent care
to keep that smile healthy.
A beautiful smile is not something that ends
with a single procedure; it is well maintained when cooperation with the medical staff
and continuous care afterward come together.
Please refer to the care methods we looked at today,
and continue paying attention so that you can maintain a healthy and bright smile
for a long time.
Thank you.
