At present, one of the relatively widely used materials

It is a type of reinforced ceramic and is characterized by translucency similar to natural teeth.

Because the way light enters the tooth and reflects back is similar to that of natural teeth,

a relatively natural appearance can be expected even after treatment.

Considering everyday eating habits,

it has sufficient strength,

and because bonding to the tooth is also excellent,

it can help provide stable retention even when made very thin.

2. If strength is a priority: “Zirconia veneer”

“Zirconia,” which used to be mainly used as a molar crown material,

has recently also been used in thin veneer form.

The biggest feature of zirconia is its high strength.

When durability against external impact is needed,

it may be considered especially for people who grind their teeth or whose bite structure places a lot of force on the front teeth.

However, compared with lithium disilicate, its lower translucency

can create a somewhat more opaque impression.

3. “Hybrid ceramic” considering flexibility and cost-effectiveness

Hybrid ceramic

is a material that combines ceramic and resin components.

It has both the aesthetics of ceramic and the elasticity of resin,

and one of its characteristics is that it can absorb a certain amount of impact.

Thanks to these properties,

it may help reduce the burden transmitted to the opposing teeth.

In addition, because the fabrication process is relatively simple,

it can be one option when considering a more economical approach.

It may be considered when you want partial improvement rather than a large change,

or when you want a treatment with less burden.
