The ‘hip dip’ that exercise can’t fix
The secret to a design that makes your legs look longer
Hello.
I’m Kim Ga-eul, and I think through and design
the most beautiful body lines.
Recently, along with the ‘Ounwan’ trend
(completing today’s workout),
interest in healthy body lines has increased,
and more people have been visiting the clinic with concerns
that cannot be solved by exercise alone.
Among them, one of the most common concerns is
the ‘hip dip’ phenomenon,
where the outer line of the pelvis looks hollow.
Today, from a medical perspective,
we will calmly look at the root causes of hip dips,
and at hip dip fillers that are completed not through simple filling,
but through ‘design.’
- What is a hip dip?
Why are muscle exercises limited?
Many people think hip dips are caused by
insufficient glute muscle.
However, hip dips are closer to a phenomenon
originating from anatomical skeletal structure,
rather than a muscle problem.

Medically, a hip dip refers to the natural structural space
between the iliac bone (ilium)
and the femoral head.
When this distance is short,
the outer line of the pelvis appears relatively smooth,
but the farther apart it is,
the more the side line can look deeply hollow,
like a depression.
This difference is mostly determined by
an inherited skeletal structure.
While gluteus medius exercises can help to a certain extent,
it is realistically difficult to completely fill the structural space
between bones with muscle alone.
For this reason,
not only people with a thin body type and low body fat,
but also those who exercise consistently,
and even people who exercise professionally,
visit the clinic because of concerns about hip dips.
- A 1 cm difference

A visual design that makes the legs look longer
Hip dip fillers are not
simply a procedure that fills in the sunken area.
This falls within the realm of body contouring,
where the proportions of the lower body are redesigned.
The key is
“where to place the peak of the volume.”
If the hollow near the femoral head is precisely corrected,
the starting point of the pelvis visually appears higher.
As a result, when viewed from the side,
the previously sagging line looks firmer and more refined,
and as the widest point of the pelvis is repositioned upward,
the legs appear significantly longer.
On the other hand,
if you simply add volume without this kind of design,
the pelvis may only look wider to the side,
which can make the overall silhouette look bulkier.
That is why hip dip fillers
must be preceded by 1:1 customized design
with an experienced doctor.
3. A doctor’s insistence on safety

Prevention of side effects and countermeasures
Body fillers use a larger volume
than facial fillers.
That is why safety is more important than anything else.
The three most important criteria I look at during treatment are as follows.
First, prevention of vascular accidents.
The most serious complication in filler procedures is
an accident caused by intravascular injection.
To prevent this, a precise understanding of the anatomical structure
and vascular distribution of the pelvic area is essential.
The operator’s skill in clearly distinguishing
between deep and safe layers for injection
is directly linked to safety.
Second, filler selection that takes delayed immune reactions into account.
If there is no problem right after the procedure,
but swelling or hardness appears over time,
it is often an immune reaction
caused by impurities in the filler.
To minimize this,
our clinic uses only verified, high-purity genuine fillers.
Third, consideration of skin tension.
The skin has a set limit for expansion
that it can accept at one time.
If too much is injected all at once out of greed,
it can place a burden on tissue blood flow.
The key to preventing side effects is
allowing the tissue to adapt naturally
through gradual and precise injection.
4. Price and procedure guide
Reasonable selection criteria
This is the part most people are curious about.
Although it varies depending on the degree of indentation,
generally the highest level of satisfaction is seen at around 100 cc total for both sides.
The price range is approximately around 2 million KRW for 100 cc,
and because a body-specific filler is used,
you can expect a relatively longer duration than facial fillers,
and regular touch-ups are recommended to maintain the line.
Criteria for choosing a good clinic for hip dip fillers
For successful hip dip fillers,
there are two things you must check.
The first is the dual-layer technique.
In the deep layer, volume is created so that the filler
stably supports the skeletal structure,
and in the shallow layer, the surface is refined smoothly
to complete a natural line.
If these two layers are not distinguished,
volume may be created, but the line can look awkward.
The second is body-specific design ability.
Hip dips are not simply a filling procedure;
they are a procedure that designs the body with consideration for both
skeletal structure and movement so that the legs appear longer.
This difference in sense
has a major impact on the completeness of the result.
A hip dip concern is
no longer something to struggle with through exercise alone.
If medical understanding and refined design are added,
a smooth and natural pelvic line can be completed.
I will continue to study carefully so I can help reveal your hidden body line.
