Hongdae Sculptra,
A to Z of the procedure, explained directly by the director
Instead of injecting collagen directly,
it makes my body produce it on its own
There were many people who were curious about
Hongdae Sculptra,
so I organized everything one by one myself.
✅ 1. How does collagen form after Sculptra is injected?

The key ingredient in Sculptra is
PLLA, or poly-L-lactic acid.
When this substance enters the skin,
it stimulates fibroblasts.
Fibroblasts are the cells in our body
that produce collagen and elastin.
In other words, Hongdae Sculptra
does not directly fill in collagen,
but instead induces my body
to produce collagen on its own.
This is a fundamentally different approach
from filling volume with an external substance like a filler.
As a result, the skin structure becomes firmer,
and it naturally changes into
a more elastic and smooth complexion.
Although the effect appears gradually,
a major advantage is that once collagen is formed,
it lasts for a long time.
✅ 2. When and why was Sculptra first created?
Sculptra was created about
It was first approved in the European Union (EU),
and its original purpose was a little different from today.
At the time, patients with AIDS experienced
a side effect during treatment in which
facial fat atrophied.
Sculptra was first approved in 1999
to improve this facial hollowing.
It is a proven ingredient that has been used around the world for 25 years
as a treatment that stimulates collagen and elastin production in the skin
to restore vitality and volume to a sunken face.
Later, its potential for cosmetic use was also confirmed,
and now it is widely used worldwide
as an anti-aging procedure.
✅ 3. Is there an age limit for Sculptra?

Hongdae Sculptra,
has no separate age limit.
The key is not age,
but whether there is an area lacking volume.
Even people in their 20s or 30s can be suitable
if they structurally have areas with insufficient volume,
and if volume has decreased with age,
it can be applied at any time even after the 40s or 50s.
If there is structural lack of volume,
for example, if the chin is small,
it can also be used in the chin area.
✅ 4. What skin types or areas
is Sculptra especially suitable for?
The more noticeably collagen and elastin
have decreased,
the more clearly the effect appears.
It is used on areas where aging is quickly visible,
such as the back of the hands,
or areas where the cheeks have sagged or become hollow,
and it is also used on body areas that need firmness,
such as buttock Sculptra.
Because it is a procedure that fills the skin’s internal structure,
any area that needs both firmness and volume
can be a good candidate.
✅ 5. Is there research showing that collagen
actually increases after Sculptra treatment?

Yes, there is a great deal of research.
Including a study published in the 2025 international journal
Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology,
clinical evidence that PLLA induces collagen production in the skin
has been steadily accumulating.
It is one of the reasons Hongdae Sculptra can be trusted
because it is not just based on anecdotal treatment experiences,
but on a mechanism proven in papers.
Since it has been used around the world for 25 years,
both its safety and effectiveness have been sufficiently verified.
✅ 6. Is Sculptra used for under-eye wrinkles?
It is also used for under-eye wrinkles.
However, in this case,
the dilution concentration is made much lower.
For thin and sensitive areas like under the eyes,
it is safer to use Juvelook SB Injection,
which is an ingredient diluted about 6 times more than Sculptra.
Choosing the right product for the area affects the result,
so we make sure to discuss it together during the consultation.
✅ 7. I’m curious about the mechanism by which
Sculptra rejuvenates the skin
As explained earlier, collagen and elastin production
that is skin rejuvenation.
Rather than filling something from the outside,
it is because the skin itself recovers its structure,
so the result looks natural and lasts longer.
That is why it often looks better
2 to 3 months after the procedure rather than immediately afterward.
As collagen gradually builds up,
the skin feels like it is filling from within.
✅ 8. How many cc are in one bottle of Sculptra?
One bottle is about 10 cc.
Usually 1 to 2 bottles are used per session,
and it depends on the area and the amount of volume needed.
Sometimes an additional session is recommended
at 1- to 2-month intervals after the first treatment,
and sometimes it is completed in one session,
so the exact amount is decided after consultation.
✅ 9. I’m curious about the price of Sculptra
Hongdae Sculptra, based on 1 bottle,
costs 1 million KRW.
The market price is generally in the 900,000 to 1,000,000 KRW range.
The number of bottles needed depends on each person’s
volume status and desired results,
and we provide guidance during the consultation.
✅ 10. What is the indication for Sculptra
approved by the Korean Ministry of Food and Drug Safety?
The domestically approved indication is tissue restoration,
that is, temporary tissue restoration.
It is an officially approved ingredient for restoring
skin tissue that has become sunken or lost volume.
Hongdae Sculptra is not simply a filler
that adds volume.
It is a skin-rejuvenation procedure that induces
my body to produce collagen on its own.
Because the effect appears slowly,
there is no need to rush,
and as time passes,
you will feel that it becomes more natural
and looks better.
Since it is an ingredient verified around the world for 25 years,
you can receive a consultation with confidence.
