Your nose bridge can change in 10 minutes
— I’ll organize everything you’re curious about regarding nose fillers
Hello.
This is Wiyoungjin from Balsan Station Dermatology.
There are many people who are curious about nose fillers,
so I’ve put together a detailed explanation myself.
“Does it spread sideways?”
“I’m scared because I heard there’s a risk of necrosis.”
“How is it different from surgery?”
I get these questions very often.
I’ll answer them honestly, one by one.
✅ 1. Can you see the effect immediately after the procedure?

Yes, you can see the result right away after the procedure.
Since filler is a treatment that physically adds volume,
the moment you look in the mirror after the procedure,
you can immediately feel the changed line of the nose bridge.
Compared with surgery, one major advantage is that
you can adjust and fill the desired areas little by little,
which leads to a more natural result.
✅ 2. Is it only for the nose bridge? Can the tip also be treated?

The nose bridge is very well suited to being neatly built up
with filler alone.
The nose tip is a little different.
The nose tip is an area with high pressure,
so filler alone may not hold as well.
Using threads together for the nose tip,
with filler as a supporting method,
is more effective, safer, and offers better longevity.
✅ 3. How long does the procedure take?

Excluding consultation and design,
the actual procedure itself takes about 10 to 15 minutes.
Busy office workers can even have it done during lunch break.
✅ 4. Is it true that the nose can spread sideways?

If a thin filler is used
or too much is injected at once,
it may spread sideways over time.
To prevent this,
you need a firm filler made specifically for the nose.
At Balsan Station Dermatology,
we use Restylane-Lift for nose procedures.
It is the filler with the highest cohesiveness,
so it helps maintain the shape while withstanding pressure in the nose.
Based on my experience using various fillers,
I’ve come to think that the choice of filler
is even more important than my technique.
✅ 5. How long does it last?

For hyaluronic acid fillers,
the typical duration is about 6 months to 1 year.
If a retouch is done, it can last much longer.
For people with a faster metabolism,
it may be absorbed a little earlier,
but
I have not yet seen a case where it completely returns to the original state.
✅ 6. How much does it hurt?

Recent filler products contain
a local anesthetic (lidocaine), so the pain is not severe.
It feels like a slight sting when the needle goes in,
and after the procedure,
you only feel a little soreness.
Most people find it much more comfortable than expected.
✅ 7. Can a hooked nose also be corrected with filler?

Yes, it can.
By filling in the sunken areas above and below the hump,
you can create a smooth nose bridge line without irregular curves.
At Balsan Station Dermatology,
this is one of the cases with very high satisfaction.
Being able to naturally cover a hump without surgery
is one of the major appeals of nose filler.
✅ 8. Can I wear glasses after the procedure?

Please avoid wearing glasses for about 1 to 2 weeks while the filler settles.
Because of the pressure from the nose pads,
the filler shape may become distorted
or leave marks.
The same goes for sunglasses.
If you just be careful during this period,
it will be fine afterward.
✅ 9. When can I wash my face or wear makeup after the procedure?

On the day of the procedure,
gentle face washing and makeup are possible.
However, the regeneration tape applied to the injection site
is best kept on for about a day to help prevent infection.
Avoid strong rubbing or pressure
for about 1 to 2 weeks.
✅ 10. I heard there’s a risk of necrosis. Is it really safe?

The nose has a complex vascular structure,
so caution is certainly needed.
However, if the procedure is done by an experienced doctor
who uses a cannula and has extensive anatomical knowledge,
it can be performed much more safely.
Nose filler necrosis is well known,
but in fact, it is somewhat exaggerated.
At Balsan Station Dermatology,
we use a cannula to perform the procedure more safely.
✅ 11. Can it be dissolved if I don’t like the result?

Yes, at any time.
Hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved with hyaluronidase injections
and returned to their original state.
If you are not satisfied with the result or need adjustments,
the ability to make changes at any time
is one of the reasons people choose nose fillers.
✅ 12. I’m planning to have nose surgery. Can I get filler first?

As a way to check the line beforehand,
it can be useful before surgery.
However, right before surgery, the filler must be dissolved
so that the surgical plan can be designed accurately.
If you are planning surgery,
I recommend getting a consultation at Balsan Station Dermatology
at least 1 to 2 months in advance.
✅ 13. When can I drink alcohol or smoke after the procedure?

To prevent inflammation,
we recommend no alcohol and no smoking for at least 1 week.
In particular, alcohol expands blood vessels,
which can make swelling last longer.
If you follow this period,
it will be fine afterward.
✅ 14. If I keep getting it done, will the nasal bone become deformed?
Getting the appropriate amount at regular intervals
does not cause bone deformation.
However, rather than repeating the procedure excessively,
the safest approach is to check how much remains
and add more only when needed.
✅ 15. How long do swelling and bruising last?

Bruising varies from person to person,
but it usually disappears within about 3 to 5 days
and is mild enough to be covered with makeup.
Swelling may be slightly worse the next day
than immediately after the procedure,
but most of it subsides within 2 to 3 days.
Nose filler is a method that can change the nose bridge line right away
with a 10 to 15 minute procedure.
A firm filler choice,
cannula-based treatment,
and an appropriate volume plan.
These three things are the key to a natural and safe
nose filler procedure.
