Valerian and Laureline lead a peaceful cosmic adventure in the 28th century. It had been a while since I last watched a movie, and I saw the recently released Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets.
This film is a sci-fi movie set in a futuristic city where thousands of alien species live together.
It follows space agents Valerian and Laureline as they work to solve an incident that happened 30 years ago.
Actually, I usually do not particularly enjoy sci-fi films, but the reason I became interested in this one was because of Non-Summit.
I became curious after hearing that the director who appeared on Non-Summit had been planning this work for 40 years.
On top of that, my favorite actor, Dane DeHaan, was in the lead role, which made me even more interested.
After watching the film, I found the beautiful and unique visuals of the futuristic city and the adventures of Valerian and Laureline to be truly exciting.
In particular, I was impressed by the way the two leads worked for each other.
Although sci-fi is not a genre I usually enjoy, I found this movie entertaining enough.
I strongly recommend it to anyone who wants to enjoy the fantastic space adventure of Valerian and Laureline together.
Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets is a film based on a famous 1970s comic.
It reportedly took as long as 40 years to develop this film because there was no technology available to bring the director's imagined world to life.
However, thanks to the outstanding technology of the Avatar production team, that dream was finally brought into reality.
As it is based on a comic, the film unfolds a world full of truly inventive and unique imagination, and Big Market in particular was impressive.
Before putting on the helmet and gloves, it looked like nothing more than an empty desert, but once they wore the gear, the enormously vast Big Market appeared.
Big Market was a huge market where not only Earthlings like us but also various aliens gathered, and it was really fun to sneak in and carry out the mission.
Dane DeHaan is an actor who shows a wide range of charms in the film.
Not only his handsome looks, but also his voice, manner of speaking, and gaze all have an abundance of charm.
Whatever role he takes on, he impressively makes it his own in his unique style.
He has mostly played in films and characters with dark and melancholic moods, but in this work, Valerian, he showed a lively and bright side, allowing me to discover a new aspect of him.
Dane DeHaan has now become a well-known actor who can perfectly handle everything from mainstream commercial films to independent films.
My favorite work is still Kill Your Darlings 3, but I think Cara Delevingne, who plays Laureline in Valerian, is also a very charming actor.
Cara Delevingne showed the charisma and competence that suit a sci-fi film protagonist.
The relationship between Valerian and Laureline is somewhat rough, but at the same time it also has a warm side, which makes the film enjoyable to watch.

The unique greeting of the Pearl people, which plays a key role in the film, is memorable.
It is said to have been inspired by Non-Summit, where they touch their foreheads once, extend their hand gracefully, and greet each other with "melanini."
Although there are some parts that feel a bit scattered here and there, this film offers plenty to see with its inventive and fresh imagination through Bubble, and it seems like it would be even more enjoyable on the big screen.
With its expansive worldbuilding, diverse characters, and a blend of unique cultures and landscapes, this film offers a fresh experience and can be considered a work that satisfies audience expectations.
