목동울쎄라 아무리 받아도
V라인이 안 된다면?
목동울쎄라

Hello.
I am Kim Jin-hyun, the chief director of UNI&I Clinic Mokdong Branch.
“ I’m already on my Nth Ulthera treatment,
so why is my jawline still so blunt? ”
Ulthera is a high-intensity ultrasound lifting device, and it is a treatment that helps improve elasticity.
Then why does the expected V-line still not appear, no matter how many times it is repeated?
The reason can be explained as the fact that while Ulthera has the power to help with lifting, it structurally does not have the ability to reduce the area of the face.
Today, we have prepared useful information for those who do not see the contour changes they expected even after repeated Ulthera treatments.
Let’s take a detailed look now at why there is no change and how to compensate for the cause.
(This clinic currently uses the upgraded version, Ulthera Prime^^)

Principle of Ulthera lifting

Ulthera works by using high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) to create thermal coagulation points in the SMAS layer, that is, the fascia layer, causing the tissue to contract.
This SMAS layer is one of the key structures that maintain skin elasticity, and because Ulthera can deliver energy to this layer without surgery, it can induce a lifting effect.

That is why, when the skin as a whole loses elasticity and sags, Ulthera can have a meaningful effect on improving elasticity.
However, on the other hand, if the facial contour has collapsed because of a large amount of subcutaneous fat, it is important to understand that Ulthera alone may have limitations in creating change.
This is because this treatment does not dissolve or remove fat.
In other words, Ulthera can play the role of “tightening a loosened structure,” but you should remember that it may be weak at “reducing heavy volume and refining the contour.”

Why a V-line does not form even after repeated treatments

“ If it’s just lifting, shouldn’t the jawline go up? What’s the difference? ”
The reason is simple.
The line is actually determined by volume, not skin.
No matter how tightly the skin is pulled, if a heavy layer of fat is stacked underneath it, the contour will inevitably remain blurry.
In particular, if any of the following apply, it may be difficult to achieve a satisfying V-line with Ulthera alone.

When the cheek fat is thick and sagging
When the deep cheek area is hollow,
but the surrounding fat is relatively abundant
When fat in the double chin area
is pulling the skin downward
In such cases, rather than Ulthera alone, it may be more helpful to consider combining it with a fat-targeting device such as InMode FX, or a localized fat-improvement treatment such as contour injections.
In other words, Ulthera plays the role of “a hand that pulls,” but it cannot play the role of “a hand that reduces.”

Key points during Ulthera treatment

The result of a V-line is not completed simply by tightening one area.
Rather, it requires a process of designing the structure of the entire face.
For example, if the area around the cheekbones is lacking while heavy fat remains in the lower face, then no matter how much you tighten the lower face, the desired line will not form; instead, the face may look longer or the proportions may seem awkward.
Therefore, Ulthera treatment should be designed according to the following criteria.

Compensating for hollow areas,
and reducing heavy areas
Energy design that takes the lifting direction into account
If necessary, a comprehensive approach including skin texture, elasticity, and volume control
Ultimately, you should understand that “lifting” is the result of clinical judgment that understands and manages the three-dimensional structure of the face.
This means that simply using the Ulthera device does not automatically guarantee a satisfying result.

The reason people feel disappointed after expecting Ulthera alone to create a V-line is that, while focusing on the device’s role of “tightening,” planning for the other areas was left out.
Ulthera can be an excellent lifting device, but a treatment that creates a jawline must first be preceded by customized planning that matches your own facial structure.
If you want a V-line, rather than focusing only on the device’s function, a structural approach must also be made together—what needs to be reduced, what needs to be lifted, and in what direction the lifting should be performed.
I would be happy if you could refer to today’s post and use Ulthera more wisely^^
