Mok-dong InMode
Hello.
I’m Kim Jin-hyun, the chief physician at You&I Clinic Mok-dong Branch.

“People say InMode is divided into two modes,
what exactly is the difference?”
InMode is a lifting procedure known for addressing two different concerns at once: “skin elasticity” and “fat reduction.”
This is possible because the InMode procedure operates through two different modes with distinct principles: Mini FX and Forma.
Today, I’ll explain in detail what principles these two modes use and what effects they create.

Mini FX Mode
Mini FX mode is specialized for reducing unnecessary facial fat.
It is especially useful in areas where fat tends to accumulate, such as the jawline and cheeks.
In FX mode, radiofrequency energy and high-voltage pulses work together.
First, the radiofrequency heats the fat cells from within, inducing metabolic stress, and the following high-voltage pulses destabilize the cell membrane, encouraging the fat cells to disappear naturally.

The fat cells that go through this process are discharged out of the body along the lymphatic flow, and noticeable changes gradually begin to appear about 2 to 4 weeks after the procedure.
Usually, around 3 months later, the face line can feel much more defined.

Forma Mode
Forma mode focuses more on improving the skin’s texture and elasticity than on fat cells.
Radiofrequency delivers heat evenly across a broad area of the skin while maintaining a consistent temperature of about 41–43°C.
This heat stimulation activates fibroblasts in the skin and promotes the production of collagen and elastin.

Through this process, existing collagen contracts and new collagen is produced, helping the skin to be rebuilt in a denser and firmer way.
This is often called “collagen remodeling,” and as a result, you may also experience tighter pores and smoother skin texture.
It is especially suitable for people who still have facial volume but are experiencing sagging due to reduced elasticity.

Things You Should Know Before the Procedure
When counseling patients about InMode, one common question is whether a single treatment is enough to see results.
Some people do experience a lifted feeling right after the procedure.
However, because reducing fat cells and regenerating collagen take time,
more stable and lasting results can be achieved with three or more treatments at regular intervals rather than just one.
Changes usually begin to appear gradually about 2 to 4 weeks after the procedure, and many people notice a clear lifting effect after about 3 months.

Many people also ask whether it can be combined with other procedures.
InMode can be performed alongside high-intensity lifting procedures such as Ulthera and Thermage, but the treatment interval and order should be adjusted so that the energy does not overlap.
If too much energy is stacked on the same area, skin irritation or damage may occur, so coordination by medical staff with extensive treatment experience is important.
Today, I wrote about the questions that people considering Mok-dong InMode are likely to have.
As mentioned earlier, InMode is not just a simple lifting device, but a combined treatment that can adjust both fat and elasticity at the same time.

One mode alone can still be effective, but if you appropriately use a combination of the two modes, repeated treatments, and combinations with other procedures, you can expect more precise and natural lifting results.
So before the procedure, please meet with medical staff and plan the treatment in a way that is appropriate for your facial condition and goals.
