Can Defined Shoulder and Collarbone Lines
Be Created?
Mokdong Filler
Hello.
I am Kim Jin-hyun, Medical Director of U&I Clinic, Mokdong Branch.

"I tried on my dress ahead of the photo shoot,
but I’m really self-conscious about my shoulders and collarbone line.
No matter how much I exercise, I feel like only my trapezius muscles
are becoming more pronounced. ㅜㅜ"
Off-the-shoulder and tube-top dresses fully reveal the shoulders and collarbone line, so the overall fit of the dress can vary greatly depending on how these areas are managed.
However, the shape of the collarbone and the shoulder line are determined by your natural bone structure and muscles, making it difficult to create the silhouette you want through exercise or dieting alone.
Does that mean there is no solution at all? Not necessarily. In situations like this, shoulder filler can be one option.
Today, we will look at an actual treatment case to examine the condition before treatment, the approach taken, and the changes after the procedure.

Before shoulder filler treatment
Looking at the photos before treatment, the collarbone line sloped downward in a V shape, and the collarbones themselves were not very prominent, creating an overall flat impression.
In addition, the trapezius muscles were well developed, causing the shoulder line to rise into a mountain-like shape.
In such cases, wearing a dress can make the upper body look constricted and the neck appear shorter.

When the collarbones are not prominent and the shoulder line is not well defined, it is difficult to achieve the desired silhouette, no matter how beautiful the dress itself is.
In this patient’s case, the collarbone line, shoulder line, and trapezius muscles all needed to be improved together to create an upper-body silhouette that would allow the dress to drape beautifully.

2. Shoulder Filler Procedure
To refine the shoulder line, we used an approach that added volume to the outer ends of the shoulders.
When volume is added to the shoulder tips, the line falls in a shape closer to a right angle, which can also make the upper arms appear relatively slimmer. ^^
In addition, if you manage the upper-arm line with fat-dissolving injections, you can achieve a delicate fit in an open-shoulder dress.

For the collarbone area, volume was added along the line above the collarbone.
This can make naturally V-shaped collarbones appear closer to a straight line and make them look more clearly defined.
However, please remember that the area beneath the collarbone is important to avoid during filler treatment because nerves and blood vessels pass through it!

3. Changes After Treatment

After treatment
In the photos after treatment, the collarbone line that had sloped downward in a V shape changed to appear closer to a straight line, and the collarbones looked much more clearly defined.
The shoulder tips were also refined to appear closer to a right angle, giving the overall shoulder silhouette a more open appearance. As the trapezius muscles became less prominent, the neck also appeared noticeably longer.
You, too, may achieve satisfactory results by accurately assessing the condition of your collarbones and shoulders and deciding which methods to combine and how to use them.
There is no need to give up on the dress fit you want because of your natural bone structure.
Shoulder filler treatment can help compensate for aspects of your bone structure that are difficult to change through exercise or dieting.
However, even when the goal is the same, the approach may vary depending on your condition, so we recommend finding the method that suits you based on a thorough diagnosis.
