Hello.
No visible signs of having had a procedure! Only the beauty stands out!
I’m Mira Lee, CEO of Banni Plastic Surgery | Skin Clinic in Gangnam.

As summer approaches, clothing gets lighter, and naturally the body line becomes more noticeable.
Especially before a vacation or trip, areas you usually overlook can suddenly start to stand out in a way that bothers you.
For example, shoulders that look rounded and raised because of prominent trapezius muscles, bulky calf muscles that make short bottoms feel uncomfortable, or the embarrassing experience of sweat spreading under thin tops.
So today, I’d like to take a detailed look at three representative body care treatments for refining the body line and getting through summer without worrying about sweat: trapezius and calf Botox, hyperhidrosis Botox, and fat-dissolving injections.
I’ll cover the principles and effects of each treatment, of course, but also what kind of process is needed in actual clinical practice to lead to natural and beautiful results.
I truly hope this post can be helpful for those who want to feel fully confident ahead of summer vacation.

1-1. How body Botox works and the expected effects

Gangnam body care procedures: calf and trapezius Botox, fat-dissolving injections, hyperhidrosis (+event)
Botox works by blocking the transmission of acetylcholine, which is released from nerve endings, thereby suppressing muscle movement.
It temporarily weakens overdeveloped muscles, reducing the size of the area.
In particular, when Botox is injected into muscles that are heavily used functionally and therefore tend to develop a bulky shape, such as the calves or trapezius, it can create a slimmer and more refined line.
1-2. Calf Botox: anatomical judgment and design are key

Calf Botox should not be approached with the simple goal of making the legs thinner.
That’s because calf thickness is influenced by a combination of factors such as muscle, fat, and swelling.
So if the gastrocnemius muscle becomes clearly visible when you stand on tiptoe, muscle development is likely the cause, and improvement through Botox is effective.
On the other hand, if the area indents easily when pressed and recovers slowly, or if a thick fat layer is felt when pinched, it is closer to a swelling type or fat type, and Botox alone may not be enough.

In the design process, it is very important to distinguish whether the developed area is the medial gastrocnemius, the lateral gastrocnemius, or both, and to assess the distribution of the muscles and the degree of asymmetry by having the patient contract the muscles while standing on tiptoe.
If done incorrectly, reducing only the inner muscle can make the legs look O-shaped. That’s why the overall muscle balance must be carefully considered and both gastrocnemius muscles adjusted accurately. The injection dose is then set accordingly.
Another important point in calf Botox is that it should be performed so the line looks most natural and balanced when wearing flat shoes rather than high heels.

1-3. Trapezius Botox: a treatment that changes the impression of the neck-to-shoulder line
The trapezius is a broad muscle that runs from the side of the neck across the shoulders to the back. It is divided into the upper, middle, and lower portions, and aesthetically the upper trapezius is the main target. If this area is overdeveloped, the shoulders can look raised, the neck can appear shorter, and the straight shoulder line can be disrupted.

When performing trapezius treatment, it is important to consider lifestyle and occupation.
For example, if someone frequently lifts heavy objects or works long hours on a computer—environments that heavily use the trapezius—excessive muscle relaxation can cause discomfort. That’s why the injection dose must be adjusted more carefully.
In addition, design is also very important for the trapezius.
First, palpation is used to check the muscle’s position, thickness, and left-right balance, and different doses should be assigned to each side. If the balance is uneven, one shoulder may look more raised, so caution is needed.

If the muscle is small, around 100 units may be used. In typical cases, 150 to 200 units are used. If the muscle is quite large or if pain improvement is also being targeted, more than 250 units may be used.
However, excessive dosing can reduce shoulder function or cause compensatory muscle development, so it is safer to proceed after consultation and, if necessary, divide the treatment into 1 to 2 sessions.

- Hyperhidrosis Botox for a dry, comfortable summer
2-1. How it reduces sweat and the role of Botox
Hyperhidrosis Botox works on a different target than Botox used to paralyze muscles.
This procedure blocks the nerve signals delivered to sweat glands. More specifically, it suppresses the action of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter, so that the sweat glands are not stimulated.
In the past, when sweating was so severe that it interfered with daily life, surgery to cut the sympathetic nerve was sometimes performed. However, this method often caused a side effect called compensatory hyperhidrosis, in which sweating increased in other areas.
In fact, reports have shown that more than 50% of patients who underwent resection surgery experienced abnormal sweating in areas such as the back, abdomen, and thighs.
Compared with that, Botox works locally without incisions, carries almost no risk of compensatory hyperhidrosis, and can selectively suppress only the necessary areas, so it has now become a safer and more effective treatment.

2-2. Treatable areas and precautions
The most common and stable area is the underarms.
The procedure time is short and the pain is relatively mild, so many people receive it regularly.
Other areas such as the palms and soles are also possible, but the precautions differ depending on the area.
For example, the palms are sensitive and can be quite painful, and temporary muscle weakness may occur after the procedure. The soles can affect walking, so anesthesia and post-care are important.

2-3. Injection technique, anesthesia, and pain control
Unlike ordinary Botox injected into muscles, hyperhidrosis Botox must be accurately injected into the layer just beneath the skin, that is, the dermis, to expect proper results.
That’s because sweat glands are not located deep in the skin but are distributed near the boundary between the dermis and epidermis. If this layer is not accurately targeted, the sweat-reducing effect of Botox will not work properly.

If the injection is too deep and enters the fat layer or muscle layer, the medication may not reach the sweat glands, and the effect can be significantly reduced. This is actually one of the common mistakes in places with little treatment experience.
So for this procedure, it is not simply about injecting the drug; the key is delivering it to the correct layer at the correct depth.
Hyperhidrosis Botox usually takes about 10 to 20 minutes, and preparation time or whether anesthesia is used may vary depending on the area.
Areas treated with hyperhidrosis Botox—such as the underarms, palms, and soles—can be quite painful, so local anesthesia alone is often not enough, which is why we recommend sleep anesthesia.
People with hyperhidrosis often feel uncomfortable throughout the four seasons because of sweating, so it is good to do it about 2 to 3 times a year.
Many customers who had the procedure at other clinics and had a hard time because of the pain come to Banni to receive hyperhidrosis treatment under sleep anesthesia.
- Fat-dissolving injections that are perfect for stubborn fat that won’t go away with dieting alone
3-1. Why do certain areas not lose fat?
Even after successfully losing weight, there are areas that strangely do not slim down.
The lower abdomen, inner and outer thighs, love handles, and upper arm fat are typical examples of this stubborn fat.

Because of factors such as fat cell density and distribution, and hormonal influences, these areas tend not to respond well to exercise and diet control alone.
In fact, these areas often make the overall silhouette look off, or even when weight decreases, body-line improvement is not clearly felt.
In such cases, a representative procedure that helps is fat-dissolving injections. They can target only the area you want to reduce and directly act on fat cells to effectively decrease fat thickness.

3-2. Not all fat-dissolving injections are the same.
Fat-dissolving injections are not standardized products manufactured by pharmaceutical companies like fillers or Botox.
Because clinics often mix and use their own formulations, there are a few ingredients you should check in advance.
The 대표 ingredients are steroids and PPC (phosphatidylcholine).
A paper on PPC side effects.
PPC was widely used in the past for fat dissolution, but due to side effects such as irregular skin surface changes or hard internal lumps, most clinics no longer use it now.
Steroids are also used to reduce inflammation in the body, but if they are used to forcibly reduce the fat layer, they can affect female hormones and cause side effects such as menstrual irregularity and abnormal bleeding. Therefore, especially for women, it is important to choose a safe fat-dissolving injection formula that does not contain steroids.
3-3. The importance of injection technique
When performing body fat-dissolving injections, the most important thing is the exact injection site and technique.
The fat-dissolving ingredients must reach the subcutaneous fat layer beneath the skin precisely. If injected too shallowly, the medication stays only in the superficial skin layer and the effect drops; if it goes too deep, it can damage muscle tissue or blood vessels.
Gangnam body care procedures: calf and trapezius Botox, fat-dissolving injections, hyperhidrosis (+event)
It is also very important how the medication is distributed beneath the skin.
It should be injected evenly with consistent spacing so that fat is not broken down only in one spot. This creates a smooth line without irregularities as the fat is naturally broken down overall. In this process, the clinician’s skill and experience play a major role.
In addition, rather than ending with one treatment, repeating it about 3 to 5 times at regular intervals, depending on the individual’s body-line goals, can help improve results.
In closing,
When summer comes, you can’t help but pay more attention to your reflection in the mirror, and little areas you wish were just a bit more refined start to stand out.
That especially applies to areas like the calves and shoulders that are more exposed during vacation season.
The calf and trapezius Botox, hyperhidrosis Botox, and body fat-dissolving injections discussed today may help naturally refine the areas that have bothered you and create a more confident line.

Even if it is not because of other people’s eyes, these are options worth considering if you want to spend the summer feeling satisfied with your own appearance.
Of course, for any procedure, the most important thing is to do only what is needed, in the right amount, and exactly where it is necessary, according to your body condition.
Even with the same procedure, results differ depending on who receives it and how it is performed.
If you have any questions about each treatment that I was not able to cover in today’s post, feel free to contact us anytime.
I truly hope this post helps you recharge your confidence and enjoy your vacation.
I’m Mira Lee, focused on sincerity without exaggeration.
Thank you.
