you may look blunt or stubborn,

and as the mouth protrudes, the bridge of the nose may look lower.

As the mouth protrudes, the chin may look pulled back,

creating a tendency toward a weak chin.

Some people also say they feel less confident

about their side facial line.

2. In many cases, protruding mouth is

accompanied by other malocclusions.

(Protruding mouth + deep bite, open bite, irregular alignment, weak chin, etc.)

(1) Diagnosis of the problem

Because of the typical protruding mouth,

even from the front,

the lips appear to curl outward and look thick.

From the 45-degree semi-profile and side-view photos,

Looking inside the teeth,

the lower two teeth had already been missing

and had been left untreated for quite a long time.

After the adjacent tooth was lost and left untreated for a long time,

the molar can be seen tilted sideways.

we diagnosed that the tilted molar could be straightened.

(2) Treatment plan

1. Extraction orthodontics

To improve the protruding mouth, we planned extraction orthodontics

by removing a total of four teeth, two on the upper and two on the lower,

but since the two lower premolars (small molars) were already missing,

we proceeded with orthodontic treatment after extracting only the two upper teeth.

2. Mini-screws

Using mini-screws,

we further and more completely improved the protruding mouth.

(3) Treatment results

1. Of course, the protruding mouth was properly pulled back!

2. The lips, which had looked slightly flipped outward and large,

were also improved in a way that looks pleasing

3. The bridge of the nose looks higher, and

4. the jaw line also changed to look slimmer

Overall, the image was refined.
