Hello.
I’m Park Yeol, Director of Doctor Prime Dental Clinic.

Today, I’d like to share a braces review from a patient in her 30s who successfully completed treatment at our clinic.
Among those who are hesitating about orthodontic treatment, many wonder, “Is it okay to do it now?” or “Isn’t it too late?”
I hope this braces review from a patient in her 30s can be a helpful reference.
The biggest concern before braces: 'tooth extraction'

This patient said she had postponed orthodontic treatment for a long time because she felt burdened by the idea of tooth extraction.
“I hesitated when I was told that four healthy teeth would need to be extracted, and I visited several clinics, but most of them recommended extraction.
Without realizing it, I think I was only looking for ‘orthodontic treatment without extraction,’” she said.
But in the end, she decided to begin treatment with the mindset of, “If I have to do it anyway, I shouldn’t keep putting it off,” and now that orthodontic treatment is over, she says she does not regret her choice.
A memorable moment during treatment

There was also a cheerful moment during treatment that she remembered clearly.
“During the early consultation, the director said the treatment would take about 2.5 to 3 years. So when I asked, ‘Other clinics said it would take about 2 years,’ he said, ‘Ms. ○○, it’s because you’re older.’ It was funny at the moment, but for some reason it stayed with me, and even now I still laugh when I think about it,” she shared.

She also said that the memory of eating for the first time after the braces were fitted was especially vivid.
“On the day I first put on the elastics, I ate a meal, but it hurt so much that I couldn’t chew.
In the end, I soaked my rice in water and ate it after it softened,” she recalled, describing the discomfort at the time.
A bigger change in appearance than expected?

When asked about the changes she gained through orthodontic treatment, she said:
“Once my lower face was balanced, my impression became softer, and before, I used to cover my mouth when I smiled because I was self-conscious about my lips. That habit is gone now.”
She also said she felt a major improvement in function.
“Before, I would unconsciously tense the muscles in my jaw to keep my mouth closed, but now I can close my mouth comfortably, and biting food with my front teeth has become much easier.”
A clinic where communication is possible during treatment
One of the things she liked most during treatment was communication with the doctor.
“Of course, in the treatment room, but also through the clinic’s YouTube and SNS content, I was able to hear about the treatment process in advance, which helped a lot.
It felt almost like the director was sitting next to me explaining everything.”
She also said, “The next steps and the changes that could be expected were explained to me in advance during treatment, so I didn’t have vague anxiety. It felt like I was going somewhere while already knowing the destination.”

Lastly, looking back on how long she had delayed orthodontic treatment, this patient offered the following advice:
“Orthodontic treatment is not just about appearance; it’s a treatment that changes your quality of life. I kept worrying and only started in my mid-30s, but now I actually think, ‘Why didn’t I do it earlier?’”
She added:
“There will definitely be discomfort, but what you gain is much greater. In particular, I think confidence and comfort are priceless. If you’re thinking about it now, I hope you’ll take that first step rather than hesitate.”

Orthodontic treatment in your 30s is not simply a matter of age, but also a story of finding the right time for yourself and having the courage to make the right choice.
Orthodontic treatment is more than just straightening teeth; it can be an experience that changes your attitude toward life and your confidence as well.
At Doctor Prime Dental Clinic, we will always listen carefully to each patient’s concerns and stand by you with the safest and most honest treatment. Thank you.
