Hello.😊
I am Dr. Park Yeol, an orthodontic specialist who has been practicing orthodontics near Gangnam Station for 20 years.
Today, I’m writing to share something I really want to tell everyone who is currently considering orthodontic treatment for various reasons.
The timing for orthodontic treatment,
right now is the earliest time.
Today, I’d like to share a situation I often encounter in the clinic.
After orthodontic treatment is finished and the braces are removed, many people say this.

“Orthodontics wasn’t as painful as I thought, and my teeth changed so beautifully... I wish I had done it sooner without worrying.
I delayed it for 5 or 10 years for no reason.
If I had started earlier, I could have spent my 20s with a prettier smile, which is such a shameㅜㅜ”
Many people hesitate before deciding on orthodontic treatment and walking through the clinic door. The reasons vary, but the feelings behind them are often the same.

You may be bothered by the alignment of your teeth, but once you actually think about starting orthodontic treatment, the decision is not easy and the 마음 becomes heavier and heavier.
Then you end up saying, “I’ll do it later,” or “I should think about it a little more…,” and put it off, and many people either start orthodontics much later or are still thinking about it now.
But
those who cross that threshold of worry and begin treatment all say the same thing after it ends.

“It was not a big deal at all.
I didn’t have much pain during treatment either.”
“Why didn’t I do this sooner… I’m so satisfied now^^”
Started orthodontics in the early 40s
Treatment review #1
A few days ago, a female patient in her early 40s who had finished orthodontic treatment said this.
"I’d been stressed about my protruding canine tooth since I was young, but my mom always said, ‘You’re pretty just as you are,’ so I just put up with it. But while living my social life, I kept noticing it, and even when speaking I felt self-conscious… so I finally gathered the courage to start when I turned 40.
After starting treatment, the director carefully checked everything, so I was able to finish without it hurting at all. I didn’t even realize two years had passed.
I’m so happy that I can smile this brightly now. I can smile confidently when taking photos too~"
An orthodontic decision made by a mother because of her child
Treatment review #2
Another person said this after starting orthodontic treatment for her child first.
“Honestly, my own teeth were also a complex for me. But when I saw my child going through treatment, it didn’t hurt at all, and the teeth changed so beautifully.
So I gathered my courage and started too.”
After orthodontic treatment,
your expression changes
When speaking or smiling, you lift your head and smile brightly.
This change goes beyond simply straightening the teeth and greatly boosts confidence.
People who work also say that their work performance improved after orthodontic treatment.
“Director…!
Just having my teeth aligned
makes every day happy!

Sometimes, on the day the braces are removed, a patient even tears up.
They have been carrying around a sense of shame about their teeth that they could never tell anyone about for a long time.
Then, the moment the braces are gone and they see their own smile with straight, beautiful teeth, they become overwhelmed.
(For reference, the feeling while wearing braces and after they are removed is really very different.)
After sharing these emotions, I often say this to my patients.
“Thank you for enduring all this time. I did my best, but without your cooperation, results like this would not have been possible. Now smile confidently and beautifully.”
And in that moment, I compliment myself too. :)
To you, who are considering orthodontics right now
If you’re reading this, are you perhaps thinking about these worries too?
Is it okay to start at an older age?
Won’t I be unable to eat properly during treatment?
Will things be okay later if I have healthy teeth extracted?
You don’t need to worry.
There are many people who came to the clinic with these concerns, completed orthodontic treatment, and later said, “Why didn’t I do this sooner?”
Right now may be a good time to start.
The most important thing for starting orthodontic treatment is
challenge and choice
When a person tries to start something, fear and hesitation are natural feelings.
But I can tell you one thing for sure.
If you don’t start,
nothing happens,
but if you do start, change will definitely come.
To get good results after orthodontic treatment, it is important to meet a skilled doctor who communicates well.
(Of course, there are some cases in which it is difficult to expect good results from orthodontics. But such cases are extremely rare.)
Today as well, I am doing my best so that those who trust me and come to see me can get good results comfortably.
From Dr. Park Yeol, Director of Doctor Prime :)
