A Review of Dental Implants in Your 20s, Introduced Through an Actual Case
Hello, this is Seoul Centum Dental.
Recently, many people in their 20s
have been coming in for implant consultations.
Since implants are being placed at a young age,
we take care to perform the surgery
so that they can be used reliably for a long time.
Today, I would like to explain
the process in detail for a case like this.

“I came because my lower right tooth hurts.”
The patient was also afraid of the image of the dentist’s office
and had postponed treatment because of work.
The patient came in for a comprehensive examination
with a very worried expression,
so we reassured them and began with X-rays.
First, in the upper teeth, four molars had fractured,
leaving only the tooth roots.
The lower right molar, which was causing pain,
had been treated in the past,
but the decay had progressed further,
reaching close to the nerve.
🦷 Brief Summary of the Treatment Plan 🦷
---
(1) Upper teeth implants 🔹 Extraction of all fractured molars 🔹 Implant placement
(2) Lower teeth 🔹 Root canal treatment for the molar 🔹 Inlay treatment for one decayed tooth

✅ Molar Extraction and Implant Placement
The fractured areas among the upper teeth were extracted,
and we began placing the implants.
Because there was not enough jawbone,
bone grafting and a sinus lift were also performed.
Since time was needed for sufficient jawbone to form,
we decided to place the prosthetic restorations four months later.

Rather than simply waiting four months,
we proceeded with the next treatment in sequence.
The fractured area of the left molar was also extracted
(on the right side of the photo),
and three implants were placed.
Since three implants were being placed,
a larger amount of bone grafting was required,
so we decided to place the prosthetic restorations
five months later for this area.
✅ Root Canal Treatment + Decay Treatment

-
- 29
Root canal treatment cannot be completed in a single visit,
so it had been started before the implant surgery.
One moment!!
After decay treatment, temporary sensitivity
or discomfort may occur.
In this patient’s case, it may have been because the decay was deep,
or they may have felt discomfort because of the sensation
of bone filling in around the implant area.
Fortunately, the patient said it soon felt better.
✅ Prosthetic Restoration Placement

The implant crowns have now all been completed.
The jawbone around the molars formed well,
and the surgery was successful.
Because the condition of the opposing teeth was not ideal,
it was difficult to make the restoration on the right pointed.
We explained carefully why the implant had a flatter shape in that area~
Both the root canal treatment and decay treatment
were completed without complications.
- Summary of the Review of Dental Implants in Your 20s

Here is a summary using before-and-after photos
from this review of dental implants in the patient’s 20s.
You can see the difference clearly at a glance when comparing the photos, right?
The patient was extremely busy,
which made it difficult to schedule appointments,
so the treatment took longer than expected.
However, I remember how satisfied the patient was with the treatment results.
The patient trusted us with their care for more than a year,
and I am very proud that the results were also good.
Today, I have explained this actual review
of dental implants in a patient in their 20s
along with photos. What did you think?
