A Real Case Review of Front Tooth Implants

Hello, this is Seoul Centum Dental Clinic.
Usually, when people say "a tooth has decayed"
or "an implant is needed,"
they think of a molar.
In reality, there are many front tooth cases as well.
There are also many cases that involve bone grafting and cavity treatment.
Today, I’d like to explain a case in which treatment was carried out after a tooth was unfortunately lost at a young age.

An implant at such a young age
is so upsetting.
For this patient, who was very distressed,
I remember reassuring them by saying that we would proceed with implant treatment first
and manage it well so it could be used semi-permanently.
🦷Simple Summary of the Treatment Plan🦷
---
(1) Current condition🔹 A total of 4 missing teeth (2 front teeth)🔹 The gums have receded slightly overall🔹 Cavities also appear to require treatment
(2) Implant surgery plan🔹 Start with the lower left molar🔹 Perform surgery on the left front tooth area 4 weeks later
- First Molar Implant Surgery

This is what it looked like after the lower left molar implant surgery.
Only the first stage had been completed at this point,
and a bone graft was also performed because there was not enough jawbone.
When we made a follow-up call the next day,
the patient said there was no particular discomfort,
so
we decided to wait about 4 months so the jawbone could form properly,
and then proceed with the prosthetic restoration.

Three weeks after the first treatment, the front tooth surgery was also performed.
This was the part the patient was most worried about.
It is a visible area in daily life,
and since two teeth were being treated, they were very nervous.
But because it was the second surgery,
they trusted our medical team and followed along well.^^
Bone grafting was also performed for the front teeth,
and we decided to restore the prosthetic after 5 months.
To make it more careful and precise,
we decided to take more time than for the molar area.
- Membrane During the Bone Grafting Process
What is a membrane?
When discussing treatment, many patients already know a little about bone grafting,
but they do not seem to know much about membranes.
If you haven’t had the surgery yourself,
it’s only natural not to know specialized terms!
Simply put, a membrane serves as a protective barrier
so the bone can grow well after a bone graft.
In this patient’s case as well,
a membrane was used together.

A total of 3 surgeries, including the front tooth implant, were completed.
Although it took some time because we went through the second surgery as well,
I’m glad the results turned out well.
To place the prosthetic,
the jawbone and the fixture must fuse properly.
While waiting for that fusion to occur,
gum treatment was also carried out,
and
after the implant treatment was finished,
we continued with cavity treatment.

A successful front tooth implant review
In this patient’s case,
after the 3 implant surgeries were completed,
they spent a long time with us for inlay and crown treatment,
as well as wisdom tooth extraction.
We also helped with careful checkups
so that their oral health could recover well.
It must have been hard to follow through with a long-term treatment plan.
At first, they were very distressed,
but seeing them leave with a smile now felt very rewarding.
