Dental Implant in Your 30s: Even if Your Teeth Are in Poor Condition, You Can Feel Reassured
Hello, this is Seoul Centum Dental Clinic.
Since our clinic is located near Sinsa Station,
the age range of patients looking for implants is quite diverse.
We also see many patients in their 20s and 30s,
so we have been able to experience a wide variety of surgical cases.
Today, among the cases we treated directly,
I’d like to share the story of a patient in their 30s
who underwent both implant treatment and root canal treatment,
which many people are curious about.

I received treatment somewhere else before,
but I’d like to get a proper examination here!
- Consultation Details
The image above is an X-ray taken during the first visit for an oral examination.
You can see teeth that were treated at another clinic,
and also an area where a molar was lost.
There were many areas that needed treatment overall,
so I’ll explain the details in the table below.
(In X-rays, left and right appear reversed.)
🦷 Current Condition & Treatment Plan 🦷
---
(1) Current condition🔹 The lower right molar is completely missing🔹 The lower left wisdom tooth is broken and cannot function as a tooth🔹 The gums have generally receded
(2) Treatment plan🔹 Extraction of the lower left wisdom tooth🔹 Implant placement in the upper left / lower right molar areas
- Treatment Sequence for Dental Implants in Your 30s
🦷 Treatment Sequence 🦷
---
✅ Implant surgery after extraction of the upper left molar✅ Implant surgery in the lower right molar area✅ Root canal treatment for the upper right tooth✅ Implant surgery in the lower left molar area + wisdom tooth extraction✅ Prosthetic restoration
Looking at it written out like this, there were quite a lot of treatments.
It actually progressed over a long period of time,
but fortunately the patient kept visiting regularly,
so there were no problems with the process.
- Implant Surgery Process in Your 30s

-
- 02
After establishing the treatment plan,
the first step was extraction.
The upper left molar was in poor condition.
After extraction, an implant was also placed.
A total of three implants were planned for this area,
but we first placed one implant,
then monitored the condition while treating other areas,
and decided to proceed with the remaining two later.

Next is an X-ray taken after placing a total of three implants
in the lower right molar area.
Implants are divided into first and second surgeries,
but in this patient’s case,
we placed a one-piece implant that did not require a second surgery.
In the second surgery, the implant root is exposed,
but with a one-piece implant, this step is not necessary.
Therefore, after allowing enough time for the gums to heal,
we can proceed directly with taking impressions.
While the gums were healing,
root canal treatment was also carried out at the same time.
Root canal treatment was performed on two upper right molars,
and it took about one month.

-
- 08
While performing the root canal treatment,
the lower left wisdom tooth was also extracted.
As explained above,
this tooth was extracted because the crown was broken
and it could not be used properly functionally.
After the extraction and once the gums had healed,
an implant was also placed in the molar next to it.
This was also done as a one-piece implant,
bringing the total number of implants in the lower jaw to five.
The gums on the previously placed right side healed well,
so we decided to begin making the prosthetic restoration right away.

- 25
This is the lower right prosthetic restoration attached.
To properly restore tooth function,
it was rebuilt with a bridge-type prosthesis.
In addition, the upper left implant underwent second surgery.
You can see the difference between a one-piece implant and a non-one-piece implant, right?
In this way, implant treatment was gradually nearing completion.

As I explained this case of dental implants in a patient in their 30s,
I mainly focused on implant placement,
but for necessary areas such as cavities between the front teeth,
root canal treatment, and gum treatment,
we continued to carry those out each time the patient visited.
- Completion of Implant Surgery in Your 30s

-
- 19
After visiting for over a year,
the implant and root canal treatments were completed,
and this X-ray was taken during a regular checkup.
The patient said they had been postponing treatment
because they were busy.
After completing all the treatment,
they felt very relieved.
They also expressed regret,
saying they should have gotten regular checkups in advance
and started cavity treatment earlier.
An oral examination is something that cannot be emphasized enough!!
Please be sure to have one about once a year.

Seeing the before-and-after photos side by side
makes the difference very clear.
When many teeth need treatment,
it can be a burden both financially and in terms of time.
Even in cases like this,
please feel free to ask for a consultation.
Because a treatment plan can be established according to the situation,
I think there’s no need to feel too burdened.
Thank you for reading this long post today as well.
