so I’ll do my best to write today as well, feeling thankful^^

Today’s topic is implant surgery for patients in their 40s~

Since more and more people are actually getting implants starting in their 40s,

I’ll explain the entire process using a case we handled directly.

I want to remove the existing prosthesis

and replace it with implants

1. Consultation Details

In the X-ray above, the left side

is actually the lower right side when viewed in person.

You can see a dental prosthesis called a bridge there, right?

Because the existing molar had already been lost,

the tooth function had only been restored through a prosthesis.

Also, the gums were generally in poor condition

and had receded a bit.

Since the patient wanted implants,

we focused the consultation on that.

Today, to explain the overall surgical process,

I intentionally laid it out in detail.

It may look like there are many steps, but this is a standard process,

and all of them are necessary treatments.

For reference, bone grafting and second surgery

may be omitted depending on the case,

3. Implant Surgery Process for Patients in Their 40s

2023. 9. 03

The patient said after the consultation that they wanted to proceed right away,

so we extracted the tooth on the same day

and completed the first surgery.

The photo above is an X-ray taken immediately after placement.

It shows that the implants were placed at a stable depth and angle.

In the photo, the two on the left are for the molars,

action? Wait.

We need preserve meaning. Let's continue. In photo, right one is for premolar.

The two on the left are for the large molars,

and the one on the right is for the premolar.

We disinfected the next day,

and carefully checked the progress one month later.

The patient also said there was no major discomfort.

They knew the date of the second surgery in advance,

but because another schedule came up, it had to be postponed by one month.

Still, everything was completed safely without any problems.

In this case, all procedures went smoothly,

so it was completed without any major episodes.

2024. 2. 24

Likewise, we carefully checked from time to time

whether the gums were healing well

and whether the progress was going smoothly.

When we checked the gums two weeks after the second surgery,

we judged that they had not healed fully,

so we conducted an additional check 22 weeks later.

The healing speed differs from person to person,

so we often look at the intermediate progress like this

and then plan the next appointment.

The fixture had fused well with the jawbone,

and on this day we judged that the progress was now good,

so we took impressions for prosthesis fabrication.

2024. 3. 16

This is the completed state after the prosthesis was also attached.

Although three implants were placed in total,

they were restored in a bridge form,

allowing proper recovery of both tooth function and aesthetics.

They were placed in a stable direction,

and the bone grafting also went successfully.

Results of Implant Surgery in Your 40s

We also checked after the prosthesis was attached.

Fortunately, there was no discomfort after the setting,

and now the patient is using it comfortably, just like a natural tooth.

If several teeth have been lost,

a prosthesis in the form of a bridge like this can be restored with implants.

Not only proper tooth function,

but aesthetics can also be restored to look natural, like real teeth.
