Hello, this is Kang In-jeong, CEO physician of The River Dermatology Clinic.
It feels like we just shouted “Happy New Year,”
but it’s already the end of January~ :)
As the new year begins, many people contact us and visit the clinic
with a fresh mindset to start anew and ask about various treatments and procedures~ (Thank you so muchㅜ_ㅜ♡)
Usually, many people get health checkups in December,
and once January comes around, more and more people seem to start hobbies or exercise,
or make plans to visit dermatology and plastic surgery clinics.
(Am I the only one who feels that way? 😅)
Recently, interest in “slow aging” across all aspects of life,
such as beauty, food, and health,
seems to be contributing to this trend as well haha.
These days, there is something I hear often in the consultation room.

“Getting older is natural as we age,
but I don’t want to look like I’ve aged all by myself,
so I’m trying to start doing something to manage it.”
As interest in slow aging has increased recently,
one of the procedures receiving the most inquiries is
“Oligio.”
Oligio is
one of the steady best-sellers at our clinic,
and it continues to be well loved.
I also tell my patients,
If you expect a dramatic change, that will be difficult,
but even if there are people who have never tried it,
it is a procedure that very few do just once and stop.
So today, I thought I’d write about Oligio for those who are considering it.
What is Oligio lifting?

The staff kindly took this photo for me haha.
Oligio is a lifting procedure that uses radiofrequency energy to deliver thermal stimulation to the dermis layer of the skin.
Through this thermal stimulation,
it helps induce collagen regeneration within the skin,
and overall improves sagging elasticity and skin texture.
Among the various lifting procedures, radiofrequency methods have long been chosen because even people without much cheek volume can improve skin elasticity with less worry about hollow cheeks.
Among radiofrequency lasers based on the same principle,
you may have heard of a laser called “Thermage” through gatherings or from friends at least once.
If we compare the differences between Thermage and Oligio,
the biggest differences are the procedure price and pain.
Since Thermage is an imported product, it is quite expensive,
while Oligio, being a domestic laser, is relatively less burdensome in terms of procedure cost,
so many people choose Oligio when they want regular care at set intervals.ㅎ
Also, Thermage is a radiofrequency treatment recommended on a yearly basis,
and because the output is strong, the pain during the procedure can be quite significant,
so for people who do not tolerate pain well,
it may be a somewhat difficult choice.
On the other hand, Oligio has the advantage of being comfortable even for those sensitive to pain, to the point that the manufacturer recommends performing it without applying numbing cream.

My mother was afraid of painful procedures and worried that Oligio might hurt, but she said this really didn’t hurt at all~ㅎㅎ
Then, when do the effects of Oligio appear?
After the Oligio procedure,
an immediate feeling of firmness is often noticed right after the treatment,
and from about 2 to 4 weeks later,
when collagen regeneration begins in earnest,
changes such as lifting effects and more refined skin texture
start to appear naturally. ✨
What is the Oligio treatment interval?
Oligio is generally explained based on 300 shots or 600 shots.
300 shots → about 3 months
600 shots → about 6 months
You can think of it roughly like that,
and depending on your skin condition and care goals,
it can also be adjusted after consultation.✨
These days, the expression “young forty” is used a lot.
(I’m also… young forty..ㅠㅠ)
Dermatology doctors also receive Oligio as one of the treatments they keep up with for regular maintenance.
With today’s trend of slow aging,
and if you want the concept of managing your appearance naturally,
I think there really isn’t a procedure more suitable than Oligio for a treatment that is not excessive and still comfortable.
Because the appropriate intensity and timing of treatment can vary depending on each person’s skin condition and degree of aging,
I recommend getting enough consultation and managing it in a way that suits you without overdoing it.🙂
If there is an opportunity,
for those who are really curious about the changes after Oligio,
with the consent of customers who actually underwent the procedure,
I will introduce it in more detail again along with before-and-after photos.
Thank you for reading today♡
