Coffee stains on teeth?

Coffee tooth staining

"A cup of coffee in the morning is part of my daily routine...
But every time I drink it, I worry my teeth will get even more yellow,
yet I just can’t give it up.
Honestly, even when I know it, I still can’t quit..ㅠㅠ
(Especially if you’re an office worker...)
'I drank it again today... what if it gets worse?'
Even with those worries...
it’s hard to give up that fragrant cup...
I completely understand.
So today, I want to honestly talk about whether coffee is really the only cause of staining...
and about the causes of staining that many people surprisingly do not know well.

- Is coffee the only problem?
Foods that cause staining are more varied than you might think
Coffee tooth staining
There are really many people worried about coffee tooth staining.
In fact, even among people who enjoy coffee...
"Why are my teeth so yellow?"
there are cases where they wonder this.

A cup of coffee in the morning is part of my daily routine, but compared with the people around me...
why are my teeth the only ones that look more yellow?
Surprisingly, the number one food that makes teeth yellow is ramen.
The broth in ramen contains strong pigments, so it can easily stain the surface of teeth.
That said, you can’t really give up delicious ramen. haha
After eating ramen, it’s best to brush your teeth right away.
And there’s an even more shocking(?) fact.
Tea causes more tooth staining than coffee.
This is not just my personal opinion,
but a fact from actual research results.
The tannins contained in teas such as black tea and green tea cause stronger staining on teeth than coffee.
It probably surprised many people who switched from coffee to tea because of tooth staining.ㅠㅠ
Wine, cola, curry, and similar foods are also major causes of tooth staining.
Since these are foods we encounter often in daily life, it is realistically difficult to avoid them completely.
So after consuming these foods, the best thing to do is...
rinse your mouth with water right away.
Brushing your teeth right away is also good, but...
after eating acidic foods, the enamel is in a weakened state,
so it is better to wait about 30 minutes before brushing.^^
- Yellowing teeth
progress faster than you think
Coffee tooth staining

Tooth staining progresses more slowly than you think...
but steadily.
Most people only realize it when the staining becomes visibly noticeable.
"Since when did my teeth get this yellow?"
they end up realizing.
In particular, coffee tooth staining tends to progress slowly as daily habits accumulate.
People who consistently drink 2 to 3 cups of coffee a day will notice visible changes within 6 months to 1 year.
"Then should I quit coffee?"
Of course, that is one option, but...
realistically, it is not an easy choice.^^;
Instead, drinking water after coffee or chewing gum to promote saliva flow can help.

And if tooth staining has become noticeably worse...
it may be time to consider professional teeth whitening.
With regular scaling,
only surface tartar and some stains can be removed,
so for old coffee tooth staining,
there may be limitations.
In such cases, professional whitening procedures can be effective.
The appropriate whitening method can vary depending on the condition of the teeth, the degree of staining,
and the desired results.
- If teeth whitening is still not enough?
Coffee tooth staining

Many people feel disappointed when they do not get the white teeth they expected even after teeth whitening.
Whitening can remove surface stains and brighten the inner color of the teeth, but...
it cannot change the teeth’s original color, translucency, or texture.
Also, whitening alone cannot solve issues with the shape or alignment of the teeth.
If coffee tooth staining is 오래된 or there is internal discoloration, the effect of whitening may be limited.
In such cases, a more fundamental approach is needed.
These days, there are methods that can improve both color and shape with little or no trimming of the teeth.
One such method is laminate veneers using ultra-thin ceramics.
Ultra-thin ceramic treatment can improve color, shape, and alignment while preserving the natural teeth as much as possible.
In particular, because it uses ceramic material that is not greatly affected by stains from coffee and food...
after completion, there is less worry about staining even if you drink coffee.^^
This method can be a good alternative for people whose whitening effect is limited due to long-accumulated coffee tooth staining.
A thin ceramic layer about 0.3 mm thick is naturally attached to the front surface of the teeth, creating results that look as natural as your own original teeth. haha
