"Is it really no-prep?"
"I went because they said no-prep, but...
They said I’d have to file down my teeth.. ㅠㅠ"
Because I’m actively posting not only on my blog but also on Threads and Instagram, comments like these sometimes appear under my posts. ㅎㅎ

These are actual comments left on my Instagram.
As tooth no-prep laminate has become more widely known than before...
it seems more and more people are interested in ways to achieve a more beautiful smile while preserving as much of their natural teeth as possible.
Today, as a dentist who is at the forefront of aesthetic treatment for front teeth...
I’ll talk about whether no-prep treatment is really possible..
and the realistic points you should definitely know.
The person writing this post is

- Tooth no-prep laminate
Is it really possible
without any preparation?

Together with Kim Chaelin, Miss Seoul, Gyeonggi, Incheon
To give you the conclusion first..
Yes, it really is possible without filing down the teeth. ㅎㅎ
We are in an era where a natural and bright smile can be created without removing as much tooth structure as before.
How is that possible?
The key comes down to just two things: changes in materials and technology.
In the past, a lot of tooth structure had to be removed so the teeth wouldn’t look protruded or too thick.
But these days, ultra-thin ceramics down to the 0.01 mm level, thinner than a sheet of paper, can be bonded to teeth.
On top of that, they have natural light reflection like natural teeth and are also durable.
To make this possible, the lip line, gums, and even the small gaps between teeth need to be analyzed in detail.

Through 3D digital analysis rather than flat, two-dimensional examination, accuracy regarding position and angle has also improved.
As a result, it has become possible to create tooth no-prep laminate that fits each person’s teeth perfectly without filing.
- If it’s no-prep,
is it always better?

I also make tooth no-prep laminate one of my main procedures..
but that doesn’t mean I think no-prep is always
the answer. ㅎㅎ
If the front teeth are especially large and protruding, like rabbit teeth, or if the teeth are overlapping and misaligned..
even with the best materials and techniques, simply bonding them without preparation can actually make them look more awkward.
In such cases, the original concerns
won’t be improved at all..
and the teeth may feel like they are sticking out even farther.
At Blanch, in these cases, we choose minimal preparation.
It’s a method that adjusts only about 0.1 mm, roughly the thickness of a single strand of hair.

But if you came in expecting tooth no-prep laminate and were told that tooth preparation is necessary..
I understand very well how upsetting that can be.
That is why, when tooth preparation is needed, we always show you the teeth first right after the procedure.
Most people can’t really tell where the preparation was done. ㅎㅎ
That’s how we create balance across the entire smile without damaging the enamel, the tooth surface.

- Tooth no-prep laminate,
not all are the same.
Then..
would the results of tooth no-prep laminate be similar no matter where you get it done?
I’m sure you already know the answer. ㅎ
Just as lip fillers done in a dermatology clinic can produce completely different lip shapes depending on the doctor’s technique and aesthetic sense, the same goes for tooth no-prep laminate.

What made her beauty shine even more? ㅎㅎ
Even if you can become more beautiful without filing down a single tooth..
the result still needs to be natural and shaped to best suit your face.
Even if the same materials are used, the outcome will differ if the experience and aesthetic sense behind them differ by the thousands of cases.
And if you add a 3D analysis system developed by a technical team with a master’s degree in engineering from Seoul National University? ㅎㅎ
That is the moment a masterpiece called a smile is born.

While reading today’s post, have some of your worries and concerns about tooth no-prep laminate been eased?
Teeth are valuable assets worth tens of millions of won.
As a dentist, I know this well, which is why I continue to refine the technology of tooth no-prep laminate.
I will continue doing my best to preserve natural teeth as much as possible and provide you with a beautiful smile.

If you have concerns about your teeth,
come in for a consultation comfortably.
I’ll find the method that fits you best.
Thank you. ㅎㅎ
