Pixels is a film directed by Chris Columbus, starring Adam
Sandler, Kevin James, Michelle Monaghan, Peter Dinklage,
Josh Gad, and others.
It was released in the United States in 2015, and I watched it
at a friend's suggestion.

Since I usually avoid reading the plot or watching the trailer
in advance, I tend to choose movies based only on the poster
image and the genre.
Just from the title Pixels, I couldn't tell what kind of film
it would be, but as soon as I saw the poster, I could guess
what style it was.
At first, it didn't seem like a horror film, but after seeing
the title Pixels and the poster, I could imagine the mood
of the movie.
Choosing movies this way was always fun.
So I ended up watching this film, and I have no regrets.
On search sites, this film is described as a comedy, action,
science fiction movie, and it was hard to imagine a film that
could combine all three genres.
But after actually watching it, I could describe it as a fantasy-filled
comedy like Night at the Museum or Jumanji.
The film's imagination centers on iconic games from childhood that
anyone born up through the 1980s would have enjoyed, such as Pac-Man,
Donkey Kong, Galaga, Centipede, and Tetris, whose characters invade
Earth.
Cute, charming characters have terrifying abilities capable of
destroying the Earth, and the film follows the process of how friends
who were once skilled gamers solve the problem.
This film goes beyond a simple comedy and contains an adventure that
moves between the game world and reality.
If I could choose, I probably would not have picked this movie.
That is because I do not simply want laughter; I prefer films that
leave me with something to think about after watching and allow me to
feel the emotions for a long time.
But thanks to a friend's recommendation, I watched this comedy, and I
really had a satisfying time.
The games in the film brought back memories from my childhood and became
an opportunity to look back on those days.
These days I have been under a lot of stress and have had a really hard
time, but while watching this film, I couldn't hold back my laughter.
The scenes where they enjoyed the games and shared memories with one
another felt truly warm and happy.
It was a film that let me forget stress for a moment and feel enjoyment
in the midst of a busy modern society.
Choosing a film like this does not seem bad at all.
