Attic (ui)
Restaurant (food)
Home (house)
Which kind of home do you like best?
Personally, among the three, I like ‘home’ the most,
but I like making my ‘home’ into a ‘restaurant’ even more.
If you can enjoy delicious food at home,
I wonder if there is anything happier than that..
On weekends, I go out looking for delicious restaurants,
or open an app to find new delivery restaurants,
and tap tap through the restaurants,
coming and going comfortably.
But what if the very thing I love so much—‘eating’—
becomes ‘pain’ instead...
What would that be like for you?
If your child has started orthodontic treatment,
or is just beginning to look into it,
please be sure to share this post.
During orthodontic treatment, there are days when even chewing a single piece of bread feels difficult.
At times like that, we naturally tend to forget
how important ‘brushing’ is as well.
To maintain the joys of life
and keep a good quality of life,
there should be no discomfort when it comes to ‘eating.’
To maintain the health of our bodies,
food is the most basic pleasure
and also a means of survival,
and one thing that is absolutely necessary in all of this
is strong teeth.
Orthodontic treatment is
professional dental treatment performed
in order to find a “healthy and beautiful smile,”
and
restore a “functionally healthy bite” ...
but if oral health gets worse
during that treatment,
how sad would that be?
- Remember the shape of the brackets
Orthodontic brackets
have a very complex structure.
Instead of thinking of the device that holds the orthodontic wire
as just one lump,
look closely at each individual structure.
Think about how hard it is to clean...
It is a device attached to your teeth, right?
For the next 1 year, 2 years, 3 years,
over a very long period of time,
I hope you will take a close look at the ‘bracket’
that will be attached to your teeth.

- Brush while imagining the shape of the brackets
In the usual way of brushing teeth,
the brackets block the bristles like a shield,
so you cannot clean the teeth properly.
The same is true even if you use an orthodontic toothbrush.
You must!
You have to directly change the angle of the toothbrush
back and forth.
An orthodontic toothbrush is not万能!!!
Brushing only from the front with a chika-chika motion
cannot properly prevent cavities.

Clean thoroughly at a 45-degree angle from below,
then once horizontally,
then turn it 45 degrees from above and clean again!!
- Remember the condition of the impression of your bite
You have had a dental impression taken of your bite before, right?
Remember that condition well
and make sure to clean the curves of the teeth properly.

- Brush while thinking about the curves of each tooth
If you were cleaning a bathroom tile floor,
just as it is important to clean the large tile surfaces well,
wouldn’t you also need to clean the grout between the tiles well?
Think of the grout as the curves between the teeth,
the deep valleys,
and focus your care on those areas!
- Get help from a water flosser.
Various water flosser cleaning devices are available on the market.
Sometimes they are given as gifts at orthodontic clinics,
but if you didn’t receive one, be sure to get one
and carry it with you to remove food particles well,
and remove plaque stuck between the teeth.
However, a water flosser is an ‘auxiliary tool,’
not the main tool for brushing.
Brushing is not complete with a water flosser alone.
Brushing must be done with a toothbrush.
Let me emphasize once again:
a water flosser is an ‘auxiliary tool’!

- Get help from mouthwash
If brushing is truly too difficult,
you can get help from mouthwash.
It is best to think of it as a simple emergency measure,
but
would bleeding stop just because you performed first aid
in a situation where blood is pouring out?
No..
The same goes for brushing.
Brushing with a toothbrush is what makes it brushing!!!
Mouthwash is not brushing.
Please remember that!
Mouthwash is not brushing.
Mouthwash was developed for the purpose of chemically finishing off
any bacteria that may remain
even after you have brushed thoroughly.
It cannot replace brushing,
so please be sure to remember this point.
During orthodontic treatment, brushing
is not just a routine task,
but an essential process
for healthy and successful orthodontic treatment.
Orthodontics may be handled by the orthodontic appliance itself,
but it is also a double-edged sword
that can worsen oral health
by creating an environment where teeth easily decay.
Starting today, try to brush with a little more care.
For a beautiful smile after orthodontic treatment,
your small effort now will bring big changes.
