About 2 Years of Anterior Tooth Resin: 478 People, 1,038 Teeth

In March 2024, I opened my dental clinic,

and over the approximately two years through June 2026,

I excluded all other treatments and counted only

<anterior tooth resin> treatments.

So far, I have treated 478 people,

or 1,038 teeth when counted by the number of teeth.

A thousand anterior teeth...

After repeatedly performing the same treatment more than 1,000 times,

I have come to think more and more about how no two teeth are exactly alike, —even when they are the same central incisors— and how the results are all different, even when using resin of the same color.

In the work I began because I thought I was good at it,

I have developed an even stronger desire to do better,

to recreate natural teeth so convincingly

that no one can tell they have been treated.

Perhaps treating 1,000 anterior teeth with resin

does not mean that I have completed something.

Rather, it may mean that I am gradually beginning to see

“what I need to study next.”

I do not know how many more anterior teeth I will go on to treat.

However, when people look at the anterior teeth I have treated,

I hope they will not be able to easily tell which teeth were treated.

And, if possible, I want to create results that look natural,

as though they were the person’s original teeth,

while removing as little of the tooth structure as possible.

I hope the next 1,000 teeth

will be part of the process of coming a little closer to that kind of treatment.

I overlaid half of each before-and-after photo to compare them.

The anterior tooth on the left side of the photo was broken by about half,

and the resin restoration was performed by me.

The tooth on the right is a natural tooth.

The goal of what I consider “anterior tooth resin treatment”

is not simply to make teeth white and bright,

but to imitate, as closely as possible,

the subtle beauty found in nature.

What is important,

I do not think it is about always having to choose resin treatment,

or always avoiding veneers.

It is about preserving as much of what that tooth has as possible

while creating the most natural result within those limits.
