Invisalign front teeth correction, Daechi-dong orthodontic clinic
Hello.
I am the chief director, Yoon Jeong-won, of the Daechi-dong orthodontic clinic.
Today, I would like to introduce a case in which gaps between the front teeth and crowded teeth were corrected with Invisalign.
In the case of Invisalign, if it is difficult to visit the hospital often, there is an advantage in that satisfactory orthodontic treatment results can be achieved with minimal visits, as long as multiple sets of appliances are received in advance and worn properly according to the instructions. In particular, soldiers and international students often choose Invisalign because it is difficult for them to visit the hospital frequently.
This patient was in his early 20s and was serving as a U.S. service member in Korea. He was scheduled to move to another country for work in six months, and while treatment could have continued there, he wanted to complete as much treatment as possible in Korea before leaving.
There was a gap between the upper and lower front teeth, and there was crowding with slight misalignment in the front teeth. From the front, the upper and lower front teeth were deeply bitten together, showing a deep overbite in which the lower front teeth were not easily visible. In addition, the left lower premolar was rotated 90 degrees forward, resulting in poor alignment and bite on the left side.

Initial intraoral photos (2025. 3.31)
There was not enough time to align the rotated lower left molar within the short six-month period, and the patient’s main concern was the gap between the front teeth. Therefore, for this orthodontic treatment, we decided to improve the spaces between the teeth, the alignment, and the deep overbite.
There were a total of 19 aligners, and the lower teeth alignment was completed within 12 stages. We had hoped to align the lower premolars a little during the remaining seven stages of the lower aligners, but due to time constraints, the aligners were to be worn for only five days each, so we determined that tooth movement would not be able to keep up sufficiently within the short period. As a result, we decided not to align the lower premolars.

Photos after two months of wearing the aligners (2025.6)
These photos were taken when the patient was wearing the 8th aligner after two months of treatment. The tooth alignment had improved significantly, and the spaces between the teeth had also closed considerably.

Photos after completion of orthodontic treatment (2025.8)
In the photos after treatment completion, the alignment of the upper and lower teeth had improved, and all spaces had closed. The deep overbite, in which the upper and lower front teeth were deeply bitten together, had also improved significantly compared with the initial state. However, due to the alignment of the lower premolars, the left molar bite is still not perfect, and the patient agreed to have the records transferred after returning to his home country and continue treatment there.
In the case of the upper right front tooth, the gum in the misaligned area had already receded at the initial examination, so the patient was informed in advance that once the teeth were aligned, the gum heights on the left and right would not match. It was also recommended that gingivoplasty be performed later to match the gum height, as that would look more aesthetically pleasing.

Over a period of about four months, orthodontic treatment was completed with a total of five visits from start to finish, and the patient left the country after wearing fixed retainers on the upper and lower front teeth and a Vivera retainer.
