Four-Season Skin Care
Change Your Skincare Routine as the Seasons Change
Hello.
I am Tae-oh Park, director of 릴리브의원,
where we pursue natural-looking changes.
The skin does not remain
in the same condition throughout the year.
In spring, fine dust and pollen;
in summer, strong UV rays and enlarged pores and sebum;
in fall, daily temperature fluctuations and dryness;
and in winter, cold winds and indoor heating
all expose the skin to different types of irritation depending on the season.

Rather than using the same cosmetics
throughout all four seasons,
slightly adjusting your care routine to suit each season
can help maintain
a healthy skin barrier.
Today, we will look at seasonal changes in the skin
and easy care methods
you can practice at home.

Seasonal skin care—remember these key points!
① Spring: Soothing and Skin Barrier Care
→ This is the time of year when
the skin can easily become sensitive
due to fine dust and pollen.
Gently remove impurities
with a mild cleanser,
and using ingredients that support the skin barrier,
such as ceramides or panthenol,
may be helpful.
Always use sunscreen
before going outside,
and after returning home,
thoroughly wash away pollutants
remaining on the skin.

② Summer: UV and Sebum Care
→ As temperatures rise,
sebum and sweat production increase,
which can make pores appear larger
and make breakouts more likely.
However, reducing moisturization
can cause the skin to produce even more sebum,
so it is best to maintain the skin’s moisture balance
with lightweight hydrating products.
Apply a sufficient amount of sunscreen,
and during extended outdoor activities,
reapply sunscreen every 2–3 hours.

③ Fall: Hydration and Exfoliation Care
→ Skin that has received a lot of UV exposure
during the summer
begins to show more noticeable dryness from fall onward.
If your skin feels rough
or your makeup starts to look flaky,
it is time to strengthen moisturization.
Use a moisturizer containing
ceramides or hyaluronic acid,
and combine it with gentle exfoliation
about once a week.
This may help maintain the skin’s texture.

④ Winter: Moisturization and Forming a Protective Moisture Barrier
→ Winter is the season when
skin moisture is most likely
to escape.
Apply plenty of moisturizer immediately after cleansing,
and if needed, use a cream or oil as well
to reduce moisture loss.
Using a humidifier indoors
and avoiding the habit of taking long showers
with excessively hot water
can help maintain the skin barrier.

Skin Care Habits Needed Throughout All Four Seasons
Although the seasons change,
the basic principles do not differ greatly.
-
Use sunscreen every day
-
Choose a gentle cleanser suited to your skin type
-
Maintain the skin barrier with sufficient moisturization
-
Manage your sleep, fluid intake, and balanced eating habits
-
Adjust the products you use flexibly according to your skin’s condition

The skin is an organ
that responds sensitively to environmental changes.
If your skin has recently felt dull and dry
or become more sensitive,
before changing your products,
it is a good idea to first consider
how the current season and your living environment
are affecting your skin.

Simply following care practices suited to each season
may help keep the skin barrier stable
and prevent breakouts and photoaging.
Thank you. This was Director Park.
