[Haeundae Restaurant] Suyeon Best Dwaeji Gukbap - Busan 24-Hour Top-Tier Hangjeong Gukbap Restaurant. A Failed Review of the Main Branch..

Hello.

This is Baek Wonjang’s food guide.

I visited a pork soup restaurant known as one of Busan’s top 3 gukbap places.

It was Suyeon Best Dwaeji Gukbap... I actually intended to go to the Minrak main branch in Suyeong-gu, which was close to Park Hyatt Busan, where I was staying, but because of the huge wait, I changed my destination to the Haeundae branch and went there. This is my review.

Suyeon Best Dwaeji Gukbap Haeundae Mipo Branch

As the number of branches has increased, there are now as many as 7 locations.

Still, as a food blog writer, I wanted to visit the main branch... but even though I visited the Minrak main branch a little late in the evening, the wait was close to an hour, so I had no choice but to go to the Haeundae Mipo branch. (Please keep this in mind.. the wait is no joke.)

The Haeundae Mipo branch, just like the Minrak main branch of Suyeon Best Dwaeji Gukbap, is open 24 hours.

It’s relatively quiet, so if you park in a nearby alley and stop by, there shouldn’t be any major issues!!

In many ways, it seems more convenient to visit..ㅎㅎ

Location: 39 Gunam-ro, Haeundae-gu, Busan

Parking: Parking in front of the restaurant. Or use a public parking lot.

There is actually a public parking lot nearby, but when we visited late in the evening, parking in front of the restaurant was not a problem at all..ㅎㅎ

If you’re driving, it will probably be much more convenient to use than the Haeundae branch.

Exterior

To be honest, what kind of grand exterior could a gukbap restaurant have.. but this place had a clean two-story building.

When I visited, the Gwanganri branch and the Marine City branch were scheduled to open... but as of January, I still can’t find them on Naver!!

Anyway, as expected of one of Busan’s top 3 pork gukbap restaurants.. it’s doing so well that even with constant expansion, the main branch is still packed...

Interior

What’s impressive is that the interior is really, really clean and completely brand new. ㅎㅎ

Since it operates 24 hours anyway, if you visit a little later, you can eat without waiting.

I saw several solo diners eating alone, and also groups coming in together—it’s a classic famous restaurant.

You can order very simply on a tablet.

I haven’t been to the Minrak main branch yet, but I didn’t feel like anything was lacking at the Suyeon Best Dwaeji Gukbap Haeundae Mipo branch.

I ordered the signature hangjeong gukbap, and for the sake of this post.... I also ordered the assorted gukbap.

Assorted gukbap feels like a combination of mixed pork soup + sundae.

Meal start!!!

A kind female staff member neatly set the table for us.

For reference, the items shown above can be refilled by yourself as much as you want.

Aren’t the two kinds of kimchi the most important point?

Of course, both the napa cabbage kimchi and cubed radish kimchi are really delicious.

It’s exactly the taste you’d imagine. Very very good-!!

These two bowls of pork gukbap appeared, and the table became complete and appetizing!!

The one in front of me is the hangjeong gukbap, and the one farther away is the assorted gukbap.

The key point is how much the flavors of the two pork soups differ..!

Hangjeong Gukbap (12,000 won)

This is the signature hangjeong gukbap.

I think this is a menu item you absolutely must order when you come to Suyeon Best Dwaeji Gukbap.

If you look closely, you can see the hangjeongsal floating around!

If grilled, hangjeongsal would have been chewy, but in pork gukbap, it was meat with a tender texture.

It’s hangjeongsal packed with rich savory flavor.

The broth is really, really delicious.

Even though it’s pork gukbap, it’s not greasy, and the way it brings out the meaty aroma is part of its charm!

The hangjeong gukbap at Suyeon Best Dwaeji Gukbap, representing Busan, the holy land of pork gukbap, was truly a perfect 100-point taste.

It’s a flavor you never get tired of, no matter how much you eat, and one that makes you think of it again and again.!!!

Assorted Gukbap (10,000 won)

This is the assorted gukbap, which includes a bit of everything.

It’s a value menu item that’s 2,000 won cheaper than the hangjeong gukbap!!

I ordered the assorted gukbap because I thought it would let me see all the different cuts of head meat.

It includes large handmade sundae,

and honestly, I’m not sure what cut it was... but it also had a generous amount of pork offal~

If you look closely, the color of the broth is a little different, and the taste is different too.

In my personal opinion, the broth in the hangjeong gukbap had a fuller pork aroma and was tastier, while the assorted gukbap felt relatively lighter.

As you eat, you end up adding dadegi.

It really feels like it gets renewed into a new pork gukbap!

O~f course, the hangjeong gukbap with dadegi added is also extremely delicious.

There are many branches, and it’s the strongest... no, Suyeon Best Dwaeji Gukbap...

I really, really enjoyed my meal today!

Conclusion

It really deserves to be called one of Busan’s top 3 pork gukbap restaurants..

If you go to Busan, of course you have to eat pork gukbap.

And you should try it with dadegi added, and even though it doesn’t appear in the photos, you should also add plenty of chives.

You can enjoy a broth full of the unique pork aroma of Busan’s pork gukbap, which is hard to find in Seoul.

It’s really hard to explain... a pork gukbap that doesn’t smell too strongly of pork, yet still gives off a savory flavor at the same time is truly outstanding.

I think Suyeon Best Dwaeji Gukbap is something you absolutely, definitely, definitely have to try among Busan’s top 3 pork gukbap places!!

It was a place that was even more delicious and moving than the pork gukbap I had long ago.

Parking: Free parking in front of the restaurant. Or a nearby public parking lot.

Can you really eat such delicious pork gukbap for 12,000 won~ ㅎㅎ It’s a place I’d really recommend to anyone.

The facilities are very clean too, and when even a branch is this delicious, it makes you wonder, “Would the main branch be even tastier!?”
