Recently, many patients have been visiting our Rev Dental Clinic for teeth whitening.

The person I’m introducing today came in for a consultation about teeth whitening prices and ended up also receiving treatment for decay on the side of a molar!

Side-surface cavities are usually completed with a treatment called an “inlay,” but at our Nonhyeon-dong Rev Dental Clinic, which has an in-house dental technician, the advantage is that treatment can be completed on the same day!!

Their teeth were relatively well aligned, but they came because they wanted to brighten teeth that looked a little yellow.

Korean teeth usually seem to have many shades in the A series, such as A1, A2, A3, and A3.5~

For reference, the higher the number, the darker the tooth.

A shade that looks like A1...

Actually, I don’t think there’s much brighter it can get, but in cases like this, teeth whitening works by removing the yellow undertone and making the teeth look more bluish, which creates the effect of looking brighter.

When using the VITA Shade Guide, you can feel that the color, which looked similar to A1 before whitening, has clearly changed to look whiter when compared with A1, right...?

Overall, much of the yellow tone has disappeared, and you can see that it has improved to a whiter tone like this!!

There was a dark spot on the upper left molar, right!?

We call a shot like this, looking toward the palate, an occlusal view.

If you look closely, you’ll be able to tell where the cavity is~~ Can you tell the difference..?

To make it easier to see, I marked only the area with the cavity.

A side-surface cavity had formed, and the tooth looked dark and bruised... both sides had decayed at the same time...

If you look at the dental panoramic image, if you look very closely~~~ you’ll see the dark circled area.

Anyway, since we found the side-surface cavity, we planned a resin inlay treatment using a premium material called Lava Ultimate from 3M.

Because it is a relatively front tooth, it might show when smiling widely, so we decided on a tooth-colored inlay!

It’s the 3M company that makes Scotch tape!

Now the treatment has been completed so seamlessly.

If you look closely, you can see that the tooth that previously looked bruised in the same area has now been cleanly treated!

The two resin inlays, shaped like the Korean letters for “giyeok” and “nieun,” are seated nicely. We could confirm them in the panoramic image taken to check the wisdom teeth. Completely neat!!!

When you visit a dental exhibition, you can see the beautiful store of Aesthe-Dentistry with these large machines standing there.

We also have one of the most common milling machines among them, and using this equipment, we can make a resin inlay in about 15 minutes each! Since there are two, that means 30 minutes total~

With just a little post-processing, it is finished at a quality that the patient can have attached right away.

Usually, when you get inlay treatment at a neighborhood dental clinic,

Tooth preparation -> impression taken -> sent by delivery to a dental laboratory -> made at the dental laboratory -> sent back by delivery from the dental laboratory -> once the inlay arrives, its condition is checked -> attached to the patient to complete treatment!

This process usually takes about a week,

But with our Nonhyeon-dong Rev Dental Clinic’s one-day treatment system,

Tooth preparation -> photo taken inside the mouth with an intraoral scanner -> made in the dental laboratory room -> attached to the patient to complete treatment!

Because we work only with fully digitized data without going through delivery,

all treatment is completed in just 1–2 hours.
