Hello?
This is Baek Won-seon, head dentist at Sinsa Station Dental Clinic.
A0
In today’s stressful society, teeth grinding and clenching have become fairly common conditions.
I’d like to briefly write about what problems can occur when teeth grinding becomes severe, and how it should be treated.
I’ll also briefly explain why it’s better to visit a dentist for treatment!

Why should bruxism Botox be treated at the dentist?

First of all, if you grind your teeth, your teeth will naturally wear down.
The shape of the teeth gradually becomes shorter, and you can see them losing their original form.
A0

A0
When teeth start to wear down, the outermost layer, enamel, gradually disappears and dentin becomes exposed.
Once dentin is exposed, the teeth can start to look more yellow, and you may also feel sensitivity.
If the softer dentin wears away further, the pulp, which is the nerve inside the tooth, becomes exposed and pain can occur.
A0

A0
This wearing of the teeth is called attrition. If stronger force is applied and fatigue builds up, cracks can even form in the tooth itself. When crack tooth syndrome occurs, the tooth may feel sharp pain or soreness every time you chew, to the point that you can no longer chew properly.

A0
Bruxism or clenching that continues for a long time causes pathological changes not only in the teeth but also in the temporomandibular joint itself.
For example, inflammation can develop in the jaw joint. This is called temporomandibular arthritis. Spraining a joint is also part of arthritis.
If it becomes more severe, the cartilage in the middle of the joint can become deformed. This cartilage is called the jaw disc, and in the early stages of disc deformation, sounds begin to occur in the jaw joint... and if it worsens, it interferes with jaw joint movement.
If jaw joint movement becomes impaired, many problems can occur, such as difficulty opening the mouth, changes in the bite, or the jaw locking.

A0
Most people who have bruxism or clenching often need to be diagnosed for both the teeth and the jaw joint.
The force generated by grinding teeth while sleeping at night is stronger than you might think.
My daughter is only one year old, and even though she doesn’t have much strength in other ways... her biting force is incredible!!!! The force of the jaw is beyond imagination.
A0
So it is necessary to detect these risks in advance and receive guidance.
Unlike Botox used for purely cosmetic purposes, such as slimming the face, bruxism Botox is better received at a dental clinic.
Is bruxism treatment only Botox?
It sounds painful... do you have to get Botox?

A0
Getting bruxism Botox to address teeth grinding is, in a way, the simplest treatment method.
Usually, about 25 units of Botox are injected on each side. In some countries, it is such a simple treatment that a nurse performs the procedure.
A0
If you go to a dental clinic that specializes in bruxism Botox, you can receive it with very, very little pain.
(The more procedures they perform, the more know-how they have, right?!)

At our Sinsa Station Rev Dental Clinic, we sufficiently use ice packs before injecting Botox to numb the skin, and then we administer the bruxism Botox.
It is much less painful than common cosmetic Botox procedures for the glabella, forehead, or eye area.
That’s because the masseter and temporalis muscles, which are the targets of Botox treatment, are thick and less dense muscles, so there is less feeling of pressure when the medication is injected.
A0

A0
After receiving bruxism Botox like this, the muscle force decreases, so even if you want to grind your teeth, you can no longer grind them strongly.
Rather than eliminating the cause, it can be said to be a treatment that relieves the symptoms.
A0
For protecting the teeth and jaw joint mentioned earlier, I recommend combining this with the bruxism appliance treatment shown above.
Of course, bruxism Botox alone can lead to a great improvement, but for people with very well-developed muscles, combining it with appliance treatment is generally common.
A0
Which bruxism Botox product do you recommend? How often? What about the price?

A0
The representative imported products are Botox and Xeomin.
Both are quite expensive products. When a clinic brings them in, they are 10 to 20 times more expensive.
A0
As far as I know, these are American and German products, respectively, and I think you will most often encounter Xeomin in Korea.
The difference is that Xeomin uses a purified botulinum strain that has gone through more processing steps to remove factors that could lead to resistance.
A0

A0
Hugel’s Botulax and Medytox’s Coretox are products that successfully localized the products above.
Likewise, Coretox is also produced through more processing steps to help prevent resistance.
According to papers, the ingredients of Xeomin are almost the same as those of Coretox.
A0
Accordingly, our Sinsa Station Rev Dental Clinic uses Coretox for bruxism Botox treatment.

Accordingly, our Sinsa Station Rev Dental Clinic has selected Coretox alone for bruxism Botox treatment.
We use the exact measured dose, with 25 units on the left and 25 units on the right in the masseter muscles, for a total of 50 units.
We use the same amount for the temporalis muscles as well.
A0
As for the price, there may be issues if I mention it in the post, so please ask through the comments or contact the clinic directly!
In fact, apps that many people use, such as Kangx Sister, Baxtalk, and Modoc, also contain all the information, so please refer to them.
A0
The recommended interval is about 3 to 6 months. According to studies, after receiving bruxism Botox treatment about 4 to 5 times, a permanent reduction in muscle function can be confirmed. I think it is worthwhile to actively consider 4 to 5 treatments with a product that has a low risk of resistance.
A0
The side effects... honestly, it seems like there are almost none. Since it is such a widely used product and procedure, I think using a good product allows for much safer treatment and better results.
A0
A0
Daytime teeth-clenching habits can be improved to some extent by becoming aware of them.
Making a soft clenching appliance can also be helpful. You can easily get one at a dental clinic, and it is not expensive.
A0
The habit of grinding teeth at night is really, really difficult to correct.
People say it goes away if you live a stress-free life, but how much of life can actually be lived that way. . .
The simplest, fastest, and safest way to see results is ultimately bruxism Botox treatment.
And if you combine it with a bruxism appliance as an auxiliary measure, you can protect your teeth and jaw joint completely, right?
A0
As a dentist who has spent over 10 years in the field, I think the treatment that gave me the most sense of fulfillment and made patients dramatically happy was the bruxism Botox treatment introduced here.
I also recommend dental care that can check for tooth attrition, wear, fracture, and jaw joint pain, sounds, and movement limitations. As you know, joints are weak structures. If the treatment timing is missed by mistake... it is hard to reverse.
A0
I sincerely hope you visit a dental clinic for bruxism treatment and are now freed from those difficulties.
