Grand Josun Jeju Aria - A Satisfying Lunch Review Enjoyed with a Josun Hotel Membership Gold Discount (vs. Parnas Jeju Confetti)

This past late August, the three of us took a hotel staycation trip to Jeju with my daughter!

We went to take photos for her 돌, and of course it was tiring, but it was a time that left only happy memories.

We stayed for 2 nights and 3 days, using one free-night voucher from Club Josun Gold, the Josun Hotel membership, and one smart free-night voucher from The Parnas Smart, the Parnas Hotel membership, for a total of 2 nights, one night at each hotel!

It was a review from a trip I made because I was curious about what kind of room is given when using a hotel membership free-night voucher.

Grand Josun Jeju Aria

When I didn’t have a child, I used to make a point of going around Jeju looking for good restaurants..

But once I had a child, I ended up having to stay inside the resort.

Of course, we did go to Chunsimine and the Jungmun branch of Seongsudo after a long time, but the reality is that you can’t go out for every single meal.

So on the day we arrived, we went to Grand Josun Jeju Aria for lunch.

And at Parnas Jeju, we had the buffet dinner at Confetti. (I’ll tell you about that in the next post!)

It is located on the first floor of the main building, and the operating hours are as shown above!

Lunch is from 12:00 to 14:30, and there were more people than I expected! Westin Josun Seoul Aria is already famous for being delicious, so I was very curious to see what Grand Josun Jeju Aria would be like. Haha.

For reference, if the child is under 37 months old, there is no separate charge. My daughter is 13 months old..

Since we enjoyed lunch on a Thursday, the adult price was 85,000 won per person~

But with an additional 20% Club Josun membership discount, we enjoyed it for 68,000 won!

That’s a pretty good price, right?

Exterior

It is located on the first floor, on the same level as the lounge.

That lettering looks very familiar, right? Haha. It’s the same typeface as Aria at Josun Hotel!

Interior

They say you need a reservation before visiting, but honestly, there are so many seats (around 280), so I thought, “What do they mean, a reservation?”

But it was Thursday lunchtime, and there were quite a lot of people using it, so I was a bit surprised.

As I said, it’s a very large place.

This is how it looked when I first walked in, and you still can’t even see the food sections yet, right?!

There are dozens of tables laid out in a setup like this.

And the variety of food offered is really substantial.

I’ll show you in a moment!

Passing through this kids’ corner (there were all kinds of sweet desserts, MyGumi, and more),

we were assigned a window seat with a view of the outdoor pool.

Meal time starts!!!

As you can see, the kids’ corner we just saw had small sweet treats like mini churros and bungeoppang.

The taste was just okay. My child was too young, so I couldn’t give any to her.. haha.

It’s hard to evaluate every single dish at a buffet, so I’ll mainly show photos!

The first course we encounter is Chinese & Asian food.

On the left is la ji ji, and on the right is yellow crab pu pad pong curry.

The la ji ji was easy to enjoy, but the yellow crab was a bit...

As expected of Asian food, there were curry and naan (the taste was average), and there were four kinds of dim sum.

I tried the har gow and xiaolongbao, but they weren’t something I’d recommend.

If you walk a little farther, they’ll also make you a bowl of pho, and there’s a fried food section too.

There weren’t piles of fried shrimp or anything like that, but the fried items, offered with relatively good quality ingredients like sweet potato and pumpkin, were tasty.

After passing through the Chinese and Asian food area, Korean food appears.

It feels a bit random, but (!) there are omegi tteok and yakgwa.. and then suddenly water kimchi and kimchi appear.

Josun Hotel kimchi needs no explanation~

It’s more serious about Korean food than you’d expect.

From soy-marinated shrimp to japchae, pumpkin & minced shrimp, golbaengi muchim, myeongran-jeot, nakji-jeot, yukhoe, and more.

I think there were more than 10 Korean dishes alone.

There is both white rice and multigrain rice, so you’ll enjoy it more if you eat them together.

The flat iron steak was quite tasty.

The lamb chops next to it were good too.

To think there were beef and lamb chops piled up right from the Chinese section. (If you ask them to grill more, they’ll keep grilling them.)

If you go a little farther, you’ll see the LA galbi and sausage section.

Personally, I enjoyed the LA galbi very much. It was lightly salty in a nice way.

The chicken leg next to it is coated in a red sauce that looks appetizing....

But it doesn’t taste that great. It was more disappointing than expected ㅠ.ㅠ

If you go farther, there is grilled seafood with abalone, mussels, and squid.

It’s nice for trying a little lightly.

If you go farther, pasta with seafood is also arranged together.

There were two kinds of pasta and two kinds of pizza, but I didn’t get to try them.

Because...

We came all the way to Jeju, so we should have some sashimi, right?

Sashimi catches your eye first. It’s amaebi, tuna lean flesh, and salmon sashimi.

This may be obvious, but the amaebi stood out the most and was the tastiest.

I wouldn’t call it super high-end sushi, but there were decent pieces of salmon, red seabream, flounder, and shrimp sushi.

There was also seaweed roll sushi that looked like futomaki.

If you go a little farther around, there are various kinds of salads, but

I don’t have the spare energy to pay attention to all of them...

Then, suddenly, the bakery section appears. Haha.

My favorite corner...?

Personally, I like to spread salted butter on a dinner roll and eat it.

And the fruit was surprisingly quite good.

Especially that kiwi and watermelon were really delicious.

Fruit that was genuinely pleasant to eat!

So, really.. even I, with my small stomach, ended up piling up this much.

Personally, I don’t think this is the quality of a buffet you can eat for 68,000 won after the discount.

It’s definitely the level of a buffet that could easily charge 150,000 won in Seoul.

Thinking about it, both Parnas Hotel’s Confetti and the five-star hotels in Jeju offer very generous pricing and very good quality.

We can’t leave out the Island Kitchen at JW Marriott Jeju, right?! It’s really the best buffet......

These days, the staying-guest discount and the breakfast coupon from the Marriott Bonvoy Shinhan Card can no longer be used, so it has become a place with a high barrier to entry.

I really don’t usually eat three plates at a buffet...

But here, I easily managed three plates. (Of course, the aftermath was suffering from being way too full...)

The ending has to be dessert.

There’s carrot cake, and plenty of irresistible items like sweet potato cake, whipped cream cake, Black Forest, and cheesecake. There may not be a huge number of varieties, but they already look delicious, don’t they?

I think you could also have a glass of wine, but that was an extra charge.

I don’t really like drinking, so I had to pass!.....

So this is the dessert plate I brought back.. and the rumor is that I even enjoyed every last bite, down to the MyGumi.

And the final treat.. if you wait, they serve watermelon bingsu?!?!?!?

It’s the small version of the watermelon bingsu they serve in the lounge.

They really are generous....

All the ice is watermelon-flavored ice, and it has been seasoned, so it tastes even better.

Even while already full, I still finished it all.

Anyway, it was a long time since I had such a delicious hotel buffet.

I really, really enjoyed my meal today as well.!!!

Conclusion

A great hotel buffet with a much higher level of satisfaction than expected for the price.

Until now, whenever I came to Jeju, I thought people who couldn’t go to good restaurants because of their kids were forced to eat hotel buffets.

That was a foolish thought.

At the regular price, our family of three could have a filling meal for 170,000 won, and of course, with the Josun Hotel Gold membership discount, we were able to enjoy it for 136,000 won.

The Chunsimine we visited was 90,000 won after adding extra rice, and if I remember correctly, Seongsudo Jungmun branch was also around the same price.

That’s about 50% more expensive, but if you think about it, it was basically a visit to Josun Hotel Aria (?!) and although there wasn’t lobster or snow crab, the rest of the food still seemed quite good.

Writing it again now, it may look a bit expensive, but hotel buffets in Seoul are so expensive!! Try it once, just in case ^^ haha.

I remember really praising the lunch at Confetti in Parnas Jeju last time, and Grand Josun Jeju Aria will probably remain in my memory as quite tasty as well.

I think it’s worth visiting once when you don’t have any other special options.
