JW Marriott Hotel Singapore South Beach — Guest Room, Outdoor Pools, and Executive Lounge Review

I’m Dr. Baek of Leve Dental Clinic, where I provide dream dental care and laminates.

I traveled to Singapore in March of this year, 2025, when the weather was at its hottest.

It was my first trip there, and I visited the famous The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore, as well as the JW Marriott Hotel Singapore South Beach, which I’m introducing today.

I took these photos at night. It’s a bigger building than I expected.

If you’re looking for the large “South Beach” sign, you’ve come to the right place! You probably arrived by taxi, though...

If you come by taxi, you’ll be dropped off at the lobby like this.

This hotel has an incredibly long name.

As someone who likes Marriott hotels, the reasons I chose this hotel were:

1. Marina Bay Sands wasn’t far away. — However, the view from The Ritz-Carlton is far, far better.

2. Since it’s a JW Marriott, Platinum-tier members receive breakfast. We were also given access to the lounge.

3. Transportation is fairly convenient. It’s close to the surrounding shopping malls and connected to a subway station. (Although I didn’t use it even once...)

As you open the door and enter, an impressive lobby with a fairly high ceiling unfolds before you!

You can feel the elegance of JW Marriott (?!)

On the first floor, complimentary water and sweets are available.

Every detail of the design gives off a luxurious feel.

King Bed, Guest Room

The hallway has a distinctly modern feel.

It’s exceptionally clean. Singapore really does remind me of Japan...

The rate for one night on a Thursday weekday one month later was 540 Singapore dollars.

That’s approximately 590,000 won. Hotel room prices in Singapore are quite expensive.

Even though this was the most basic room type, it was somewhat expensive, although I was told that the room itself was also fairly spacious.

In today’s post, I’ll share a review of the accommodation and the Executive Lounge.

When you enter the hallway, you’ll see a large bed placed in the room.

The room rate is 600,000 won... Hmm... Singapore really does seem expensive.

Still, the interior design is sophisticated and stylish!

When you lie on the bed, the TV is directly in view.

The area between the bed and bathroom is separated by a sliding mirror door, so when you open it, you can watch TV from the bathroom as well (?!).

The toilet was in a separate space, and there was a bathtub large enough to enjoy a half-body bath on your own.

This is JW Marriott Singapore, faithfully delivering the essentials.

The shower was also in a separate space, and the amenities were from Aromatherapy Associates.

I believe they’re British products, and I remember finding them perfectly pleasant to use.

The outside view was so-so. I admit I didn’t have high expectations (?), but Marina Bay Sands was barely visible~

Instead, Suntec City directly in front of us displayed its imposing presence.

Outdoor Pools — There are two.

Starting with the pool on the 18th floor!

First, let’s take a look at the pool located on the 18th floor of the South Tower~~

When you get off the elevator, the entire floor consists of a café, gym, and pool.

So I took a full look around~

There’s a café(?) called FLOW 18 where you can order food and drinks!

Foreign guests were spending a comfortable afternoon here, working on their laptops, lying down, and so on~

In the photo on the right, you can see that there’s a fairly large gym.

There’s a fairly long pool with a depth of 1.2 m, along with an outdoor view of high-rise buildings in the distance.

It’s a more pleasant space than I expected.

It’s so distinctive that when you look at the building from outside, this is the part that stands out most haha

Day and night are completely different!!

It’s actually much more impressive at night than during the day. Haha

It feels as though someone brought Hong Kong’s nighttime skyline here...

Outdoor Pools — There are two.

The second pool is on the 6th floor of the East Tower.

There’s a passage connecting the South Tower to the East Tower on the second floor.

We hurried over in our robes. Haha

The glass-walled building gives off an incredibly high-tech feeling.

When you go up that way, there’s an infinity pool! We spent a lot of time here!!

When we visited, this pool was more crowded. It was also a popular space with white families.

Looking back at it now... I feel like I want to go again...

Executive Lounge

A wonderful space that continuously provided breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

One thing to remember is that you can’t go in wearing flip-flops.

White guests can wear flip-flops and it’s fine, but Asian guests like us get called out for wearing them. It was unpleasant.

But even if it feels unpleasant, you can’t avoid going.

This hotel takes its Executive Lounge very seriously...

It could even be a reason to stay at the JW Marriott.

Personally, I loved it because they clearly put a lot of care into the bakery items.

Bringing some bread and having it with the coffee they serve makes for a truly excellent experience!!

And it’s not limited to Western-style food; they also serve Southeast Asian dishes.

They even prepare noodles...... (Although I didn’t try them....)

It doesn’t show up very well in the photos, but they also put considerable effort into the fruit selection.

The salads also seemed quite popular.

There’s actually quite a lot to eat in this space.

In the morning, there are egg and bacon dishes like these, and if you look in the corner, there are also dim sum items...

A complete hybrid experience~

When we went in the evening, they provided a different selection of bakery items.

I’m not sure whether breakfast, lunch, or dinner was the best...

This is my Executive Lounge review, which turned into a full-on food tour.

As you would expect from Southeast Asia, there was a generous amount of fruit,

and it was sweet and delicious.

And they are truly serious about desserts. Hahaha

What’s with the canelés.....? The bakery kept filling the trays even though people took them all, which was incredibly impressive.

As you can see, they serve wonderful food that rivals JW Marriott Jeju.

The more I saw, the more appealing the accommodation, pools, and Executive Lounge became.

I had such a pleasant and enjoyable stay that I decided to make this post primarily photo-based.

Personally, Singapore felt like a place with many rules and a very rigid structure, so I experienced a strange sense of inner frustration during my visit.

Thinking about it again while writing this post, though, I realize that the airport was truly grand and impressive... and that the hotels were very high quality while adhering closely to their standards...

As I’ll show you in my next post, The Ritz-Carlton Singapore is truly on another level.

It has an even better outdoor pool and an even better Executive Lounge than the JW Marriott Hotel Singapore South Beach I introduced here, along with an even more impressive room condition.

Singapore was a place I had stopped visiting because I felt an inexplicable sense of frustration there,

but while writing this post, I suddenly found myself wanting to go again.

I’ll apologize to my wife and suggest that we take another trip.
