Waldorf Astoria Osaka – A Weekend Stay in a King Deluxe Room Using a Lotte Hilton Free-Night Certificate (Feat. Diamond Tier)

I’m Dr. Baek, director of Lev Dental, the Sinsa Station tooth-whitening destination.

In April 2026, after spending two nights at The Ritz-Carlton Kyoto, I returned to Osaka and stayed two nights at the Waldorf Astoria Osaka.

We stayed for two nights from Friday to Sunday, using the complimentary night certificates provided by the Lotte Hilton Card!

I made the reservation by phone, and this is an honest review based on my own money (!). Haha.

My review of the Ritz-Carlton Kyoto suite, which I visited after receiving NUA approval, is above~ Haha.

Waldorf Astoria Osaka

The Lotte Card Hilton Amex Premium I got last year.

The annual fee is 500,000 won, and if you spend 24 million won per year, you can receive Diamond tier status and two weekend free-night certificates.

The basic point-earning rate is not as good as the Hyundai Amex Platinum, so setting that aside... it is not a particularly appealing card apart from the Bimage benefit, which can only be used at Hilton-affiliated hotels in Korea.

You can make Hilton reservations through chat, or call 080-682-0882 to book directly with a representative.

I have made reservations twice, and both times I was connected with someone who could speak Korean, so it was very convenient.

The hotel is located close enough to walk to while pulling a suitcase from Osaka Station.

Unlike The Ritz-Carlton Osaka and The Osaka Station Hotel, which I visited last year, you need to go to the opposite side of the main road.

You need to come out on the LUCUA department store side!!

You can see it in the photo on the left: the hotel with the “W&A” logo at the very top is the Waldorf Astoria.

When you go to the entrance, you’ll see the hotel sign right away. If you find it too much trouble, just take a taxi~ Haha.

The stylish first-floor lobby. The ceiling is extremely high, and the stone interior is impressive.

A friendly staff member will guide you all the way to the elevator. Haha.

I thought each piece of seating had a very sophisticated design.

It is definitely more upscale than a standard Hilton, with a clean style that feels somewhat different from Conrad.

If I were to compare it with Marriott brands, it feels below The Ritz-Carlton but slightly better than Westin.

After getting off on the lobby floor, where the concierge is located, and walking along the long corridor,

You’ll find the concierge in a circular space like this.

There is water collected in the center—it does not seem to be a fountain—and several staff members welcomed us.

Half of the area is for sitting, and the other half is for check-in.

Unfortunately, despite having Diamond tier status, we did not receive a special upgrade. Instead, we were given room information guides like the ones below.

The guide on the left was provided because we were Diamond members.

One thing worth remembering is that the hotel offers a 25% discount at restaurants within the Waldorf Astoria.

That is why we had the dinner sushi omakase at Tsukimi one evening. It was 40,000 yen per person...

The one on the right introduces the hotel’s facilities in general.

King Deluxe Room

The entry-level room eligible for use with a Lotte Hilton free-night certificate

Our room was on the 37th floor.

Actually, a staff member guided us to the room and explained everything, but I stepped back outside to take photos...

This is the view you see as soon as you open the door.

Immediately on the left is the luggage area, followed by the bathroom, and at the very end is the room—not too large and not too small!

I thought the luggage area was quite spacious.

The staff had kindly placed our luggage there in advance.

There is also enough space to hang clothes.

This is roughly the view when you enter the room.

The king bed, with comfortable bedding, faces the window with the foot of the bed pointing toward the view. There is also a small table and a sofa and chairs, perfect for sitting around and chatting!!

Once again, I thought, “New really is better.” Haha.

Compared with Marriott brands, it strongly reminded me of Westin!?

Something blue would be Westin, while something green would be Waldorf?

Wow, what a lovely surprise! There was some beautiful fruit arranged on the table.

Japan has delicious fruit... but would it really be good...?

What more needs to be said!! Of course it was delicious.

There were only a few pieces of fruit, but we really enjoyed them.

There was a minibar right next to it, which requires an additional charge.

Approximate prices are listed, but Japan has plenty of convenience stores, like Korea, so I don’t think there are many occasions when you would actually use the minibar.

There was nothing particularly extraordinary, but whenever I travel, I somehow end up taking these photos as if they were homework... Haha.

Still, it is quite nice, isn’t it? If you pay to stay here, it costs around 700,000–800,000 won.

The furniture was definitely new, so everything felt fresh and pleasant...!

The bathroom looked roughly like this.

As always, there were two sinks, and the amenities were from Aesop.

Beyond them, the toilet room is on the left and the shower room is on the right.

The fact that the space is divided like this is a definite advantage!

I especially appreciated that even the most basic room came with an excellent bathtub!

I had just come from the absolutely top-tier Ritz-Carlton Kyoto... (I told you, it had two bathrooms..) so I thought the Waldorf Astoria was fairly ordinary, but looking back, this is also a really wonderful hotel;;

A variety of products with what I consider to be the most universally appealing scents were provided, including body wash, hand wash, and lotion.

They were familiar amenities, so they felt natural to use.

All the basic amenities are provided to this extent, so you probably won’t need to bring much with you.

Library

After getting off the elevator, we headed back toward the lobby. More hotel exploring!!

The view from above is quite spectacular.

Interestingly, there is a space called the Library.

It does not provide food and drinks like an executive lounge, but it is a place where you can sit and chat quietly or get some work done.

There is a coffee machine, so you can make your own coffee.

It is easy enough to make an iced Americano.

There are more seats than expected, the view is nice, and everything is clean...

I came here to take care of some work on my laptop, and it was quiet and pleasant!! Give it a try~

New really is nice.... Haha.

The facilities were clean and flawless. There was no place to return the cup after finishing the coffee, so I simply left it there..

We came back out to the lobby floor, and now it was time to explore the pool and other facilities!?

The spa entrance is understated but stylish.

Inside, there are various facilities, including changing rooms, a pool, and a fitness center.

You could only enter the gym by tapping your room key!

The view overlooking Osaka Station is quite nice.

The quality of the exercise equipment is excellent.

The changing room was also extremely clean and linear in design.

There were very few people, so it felt as though we could enjoy the entire new facility almost entirely by ourselves.

The shower room was clean and pleasant, and all the amenities were Aesop products.

Conrad Osaka provides Byredo... considering the price, Conrad probably wins this comparison..? Haha.

There was also a bath with a good view, as well as a sauna.

The reason I was able to take so many photos was... because no one else was there...

And the pool facilities were very clean and pleasant too!!

Maybe because there were so few people, the water was extremely clean..... It faces outward, so you can see outside while lying down.

The Osaka view below, seen from this angle. It is just as distinctive as the Tokyo city view.

It is quite different from the relaxed, nature-oriented atmosphere we experienced in Kyoto, isn’t it? Haha.

The pool is 1.2 meters deep, which is suitable for adults to enjoy.

Only two other people came during our stay..!... Since Japanese people generally enjoy swimming regularly, it seems they do not necessarily come to a hotel to swim and play.. Enjoy it as if you have the whole pool to yourself!!

Osaka in April had such wonderful weather. It was neither hot nor cold, making it perfect for walking around~

Be sure to spend some time at the park near the Waldorf Astoria too!! The enormous shopping district is an added bonus ^^

The Waldorf Astoria Osaka is one of the most popular places to use the free-night certificates from the Lotte Hilton credit card. It is favored partly because it is new, and its hotel tier is also among the highest within Hilton.

Personally, if I were choosing Osaka rather than Tokyo, Conrad Osaka felt a little more upscale.

The Waldorf Astoria is new and clean, but it can feel a little quiet. Conrad Osaka, on the other hand, has a club lounge and a somewhat livelier, more welcoming atmosphere!!

Still, I was extremely satisfied with the Waldorf Astoria throughout our stay. If we assume that we used the Lotte Hilton certificate, worth roughly 800,000 won, for this stay... we received approximately 1.6 million won in value, so I think it is fair to be satisfied ^^ Hahaha.
