A young man came to Aumreumdri Dental Clinic.
He said he had received various treatments since childhood.
He came through a referral from an acquaintance because it was uncomfortable for him to eat.
Well, these days even being able to recommend someone is a skill~
Whenever referral patients, not marketing-driven ones, come in,
we feel a great sense of reward.^^
Referrals are not easy, are they~
Our clinic has many referred patients,
and we take great pride in that.
Now, to get to the main point~
The patient’s concerns
- The front teeth had gaps.
- The molars had tipped over, making it hard to eat.
Those were the two issues.

Red: The front teeth are gapped after prosthetic treatment
Yellow: The alveolar bone has resorbed, so the gum condition is not good
Blue: The molars have tipped over after being left untreated following extraction
As explained above, several problems are visible.
First, for the gapped front teeth, there are two methods.
First: Close them with orthodontics
Second: Redo the front tooth prosthetics
The front tooth prosthetics were not pretty, but they had been done not long ago,
and there were many other areas that still needed treatment,
so we decided to look for a more cost-effective option.
So instead of redoing the prosthetics, we decided to bring the gapped front teeth together with partial orthodontics.
At this point, there are two ways:
attaching braces,
or using clear aligners.
Because the process of attaching and removing appliances can damage the front tooth prosthetics,
and because the gap is not very large,
clear aligners are more advantageous.
The cost is 350,000 KRW as well~
It really is a very wise choice, right?
If the gap is only this slight,
you can get good results at a low cost
without needing to attach appliances.
If there is a part of the color that you are not happy with,
you can replace it neatly later when you have more room in the budget~
Let's move on to the second issue, the molars.
In the case of the molars, there are two problems.
First, the molars have tipped over.
Second, there is not enough maxillary bone.
Solution
First: Extract the tipped molars and place implants
Second: Upright the tipped molars and then place implants
If you choose the first method, treatment is easy and finishes quickly.
However, the patient was young,
and since many teeth had already been extracted,
I wanted to save as many remaining teeth as possible.
So, although it could be more complicated,
we decided to use partial orthodontics to upright the tipped teeth.

Uprighting tipped teeth
takes at least 4 months or more,
so while waiting, we performed sinus lift surgery
and prepared to place the implants as soon as there was space for them.

The bone in both maxillary sinuses is only as thin as paper.
Still, on the left side we planned to keep using the existing bridge,
and place an implant only on the right side.

The treatment was completed with 4 implants.
The tipped teeth were also properly uprighted into their original positions.
With treatment like this, you can preserve as many of your own teeth as possible.
In addition, the number of implants needed decreases,
so it is also more cost-effective.
No matter how good implants are,
they are not better than your own teeth.
When my effort to preserve the patient’s own teeth as much as possible leads to good results,
I feel very satisfied.

After the treatment was completed, the patient changed his mind and said that, since we were at it,
he also wanted to change the front teeth in a more beautiful way.
Originally, a lot of money was planned for implant treatment,
but by reducing the number of implants and saving on costs,
the money saved was enough to address the front teeth as well.
I want to upload a photo of the front teeth too, but...
I must have been busy and didn’t take one.
That’s disappointing.ㅠㅠ
Aumreumdri Treatment Philosophy
- Let’s preserve as many of our own teeth as possible
- Let treatment be possible at a reasonable cost
- Let future maintenance be easy
Dental treatment is absolutely not something that ends in one visit.
It must be maintained continuously during use, and additional treatment may be needed.
Of course, you can make it look obviously treated and finish there!!
But rather than ending at that,
if you set a treatment plan and manage it while considering future problems that may arise during use,
it will be treatment you will never regret~~
