Hello,
Today I’d like to introduce crowding correction and front teeth partial orthodontics.
This is a simple front teeth partial orthodontic treatment that took 6 months.

Although it was a short-term front teeth partial orthodontic treatment, because of the edge-to-edge bite, this case was treated with Clippy C instead of a simple appliance such as MTA or 2D.
After the College Scholastic Ability Test in December 2023, the patient visited for orthodontic treatment.

23.12
There was no flaring or protrusion.
The problem to be addressed was the crooked canine.

23.12
The molar occlusion was not bad, so short-term front teeth partial orthodontics was recommended.

23.12
Front teeth partial orthodontics usually uses small, simple MTA mini-tubes or lingual 2D orthodontic appliances, since they have no special function beyond alignment.
However, this patient also showed a shallow edge-to-edge bite in addition to the crooked canine, so after aligning the front teeth, we decided to use elastics to help address the bite to some extent as well.
Therefore, Clippy C, an appliance with elastic hook capability, was attached and treatment proceeded.

This is the appearance 5 months after treatment began.
Front teeth partial orthodontics is performed by attaching appliances only to the 6 front teeth.
The crooked canine was almost fully corrected, and elastics were used to encourage the front bite to deepen.
A small amount of interproximal reduction was also performed to align the severely crooked canine.
And one month later, in June 2024, treatment was finally completed.

24.06
The alignment became neat, and the front bite became deeper than it was at the beginning.

This is the appearance with the retainer attached.
Let’s look at the before-and-after comparison.
The total treatment period was 6 months.

Even a severe-looking crooked canine can sometimes be corrected in an unexpectedly short and simple way with appropriate treatment.

Thank you for reading this long post.
