Today, after a long time, I’ll talk about no-prep laminate veneers rather than orthodontics.

I’ll explain how to treat a case where enamel wear from tooth grinding is mixed with white spot lesions using no-prep laminate veneers, and what strategy can help extend the lifespan of veneers against grinding.

This patient visited for no-prep laminate veneer treatment.

The incisal edges of the front teeth were worn down diagonally due to abrasion, and there were severe white spot lesions across the front teeth.

The patient wanted no-prep laminate veneers because the area of the white spots, or white spot lesions, was large and there were also problems caused by wear.

Because the patient wanted treatment to be minimized, we excluded the canines, which had relatively fewer white spots, and decided to treat only the four front teeth.

After consulting with the patient, we proceeded without separate fitting, since they wanted the shape and color to be as natural as possible and trusted us to handle it.

After waiting through the 10-day fabrication period, this is the result after bonding the no-prep laminate veneers, Gelami.

Since the cause of the front tooth wear was tooth grinding, it is best to use a grinding appliance to prevent veneer fracture.

Since the patient also needed a removable retention appliance to take in and out as an orthodontic retainer, we decided to have the grinding appliance serve as the orthodontic retainer as well.

For aesthetic treatments like veneers, the more natural the result looks, as if it were the patient’s own teeth, the more beautiful it remains over time.
