Today, we’re sharing a review of Invisalign Lite.

Invisalign Lite is a program within Invisalign’s clear aligner treatment designed for short-term, limited orthodontic correction.

It is applied to malocclusions that can be treated within 14 aligners.

Even for the same type of malocclusion, whether it can be corrected within 14 aligners depends on the treating doctor’s experience and know-how.

You may wonder why we can use Invisalign Lite when other clinics say it cannot be done with Invisalign Lite.

Today, we will show you how Invisalign Lite was used to improve deep bite and the occlusal plane.

This patient came in for orthodontic treatment because the left teeth looked lower when smiling.

When the upper teeth cover the lower teeth too much, this is called a deep bite.

The lower teeth are barely visible.

In the actual smile photo, you can see that the occlusal plane is tilted.

The patient’s left teeth are positioned lower.

The upper teeth were well aligned,

but one of the lower front teeth was crooked.

In particular, one of the lower front teeth also showed a malformed tooth.

The protruding part toward the back is part of the tooth.

We decided to improve both the tilted occlusal plane and the deep bite with Invisalign Lite.

To solve all of these issues within 14 aligners, it is advisable to place an orthodontic mini-screw and use elastics together.

The Invisalign aligners arrived in March 2024, and treatment began with wearing the aligners from that point.

This is the bite after all 14 aligners were worn over 4 months.

The patient diligently wore elastics in the area marked by the blue arrow, and over the 4 months the tilted occlusal plane and deep bite were successfully improved.

When smiling, one side no longer looks lower.

The result was good and the patient was satisfied, so we decided to end treatment without remaking the aligners.

As the deep bite was resolved, the lower teeth are now visible when the teeth are closed.

The crooked front teeth became aligned, and a wire retainer was made accordingly for the malformed area of the lower front tooth.

A fixed retainer behind the front teeth is essential.
