Treatment Period for Invisalign Lite for an Overbite, Crowded Canine, and Crossbite in an International Student

Today, we are the Apgujeong orthodontic clinic introducing orthodontic treatment.

Our clinic has many international student patients.

Usually, they can come in only twice a year, during the short summer and winter breaks.

Even if a patient can only visit twice a year, the Invisalign treatment results are always good.

Today, I will explain how orthodontic treatment is done with Invisalign Lite when you can only come twice a year.

In February 2024, a patient came in for orthodontic treatment.

The patient was a family member of an Invisalign company employee.

As an international student, the patient came to Korea during winter break and visited near the end of winter break to start orthodontic treatment.

A recommendation for international students: please come as soon as your vacation starts.

In Invisalign orthodontic treatment, the appliances are ordered, and treatment can begin about a month and a half later when they are ready.

There is a crowded canine, and the front tooth next to the crowded canine has erupted toward the palate, causing a crossbite where the lower teeth bite in reverse.

There are areas where the bite is open.

The molar occlusion was good, and there was no protrusion, so Invisalign Lite with a small amount of interproximal reduction was recommended.

Because the patient was an international student, they could only come twice, in summer and winter.

If the 14 aligners are worn for one week each, that would take three and a half months, but if each aligner is worn for 10 days to 2 weeks, it can fit the vacation schedule as well.

In February 2024, the Invisalign appliances were ordered, and in April 2024, the patient briefly came to Korea, tried on the first aligner, and left with all 14 aligners.

They wore each aligner for 10 days to 2 weeks until December, and this is how they looked when they visited during the winter break in December.

The crowded canine and crossbite were resolved.

The bite is good, and both sides show a Class I occlusal relationship.

The alignment is also perfect.

It is already sufficiently good now, but additional aligners were made, and after wearing all the additional aligners from February 2025 to July 2025, the treatment was completed.

Similarly, the patient took all 14 additional aligners with them and continued treatment by switching them out overseas.

The total number of clinic visits until treatment completion was about 5.
