From Invisalign Express to Lite, Moderate, and Comprehensive, and so on,

each option allows a different number of aligners and has a different cost.

This post is about when Invisalign Express is actually used.

This patient came in for orthodontic treatment in February 2025.

They had undergone extraction orthodontic treatment long ago, but the teeth shifted again during the retention phase.

At that time, the doctor did not provide a wire-fixed retainer, only a removable retainer that could be taken in and out.

What they wanted to correct with retreatment were the protruded upper front teeth and the black triangles between the lower front teeth.

One front tooth is lifted up.

One central incisor is significantly protruded.

Maintaining good results with only a removable retainer, without a wire-fixed retainer, has its limits.

These days, a wire-fixed retainer is essential.

The lower teeth also show slight alignment irregularities.

This is exactly where Invisalign Express can be useful for this kind of relapse.

It is an appliance used for mild malocclusion that can be corrected with 7 aligners, or for relapsed teeth.

We recommended Invisalign Express, and for the upper jaw we focused on alignment, while for the lower jaw we planned to reduce the size of the black triangles and improve alignment through interproximal reduction.

After wearing all 7 aligners over two months from March to May, this is the result.

The upper teeth moved back into place well, but the black triangles between the lower front teeth are still large.

The front tooth alignment is complete.

To further reduce the black triangles between the lower front teeth, we moved on to making additional aligners.

From July to September 2025, treatment was completed after wearing 7 additional aligners.
